Divine Bakery, located near Lakshman Jhula in Rishikesh, offers a variety of cakes, pastries, and ice creams, making it a go-to spot for those with a sweet tooth. However, one thing that stands out is its exceptionally high pricing. With no other bakery nearby, Divine seems to capitalize on its monopoly in the area.
We visited the bakery to buy a cake for a birthday celebration but were surprised to find that the starting price for a pound cake was ₹600, which felt quite steep. Given the high cost, we opted for a smaller treat—a butterscotch pastry priced at ₹200. The pastry itself was quite good, with a nice balance of sweetness and flavor, but the price tag still seemed hard to justify for such a small portion.
While the quality of the baked goods is satisfactory, the exorbitant pricing could deter many potential customers, especially those looking for more affordable options. If you're willing to spend a little extra for convenience and decent taste, Divine Bakery can meet your needs. However, if you're on a budget, it might not be the best option for indulging...
Read moreThe place is chic no doubt but as one of the reviewer pointed out that they give preference to western guests, my experience was that they also give preference to their guests who stay at their resort as many tables were full of them & their orders were served before ours which was placed much before them. Also when we ordered 2 different soups we were served something else and that too lukewarm. When we pointed this out we were told that there's a party going on downstairs & perhaps this mistake. Service was lackluster & they hardly cared. Prices were exorbitant and the taste of their wares were average. The only tasty and affordable item was their cheesecake which we had when we were clearing the bill at their counter. Overall a lousy place to...
RASCISME
Google Review in English:
I went to this place by chance and took a seat on the balcony. I politely asked the waiter if I could order and get a menu, but he told me to go directly to the counter. When I got there, no menu in sight, so I asked if they had any gluten-free options. The man barely looked up and said, "No, just milk." I ordered a masala chai, thinking I needed to pay then, but he simply told me to return to my seat. So I went back and enjoyed the view.
35 minutes later, still nothing. I noticed menus on the tables and saw other customers who arrived after me had already eaten and paid. I went back to the counter, and to my surprise, my order had been forgotten. I expressed my confusion, especially since the waiter had sent me to the counter even though there were menus in the dining area… No explanation or apology, and the waiter continued passing by without acknowledging me.
As a Black person, I would advise others to avoid this place. All the Indian customers were served except me. No apology, no consideration. Avoid this...
