Do Not go there if you have a kid.
I went there last Saturday with my husband and 1.5yr son.One gentlemen left no stone unturned to ruin our family dinner .We were so annoyed that we left once v finished our starter and soup.
He kept behaving as if it's a crime to come to their restaurant with a kid. There were series of instances which made us feel unwelcomed with a toddler .I would like to specify my son was on his high chair sitting n enjoying his bread stick n excited seeing the menu. The person kept interrupting us saying madam pls be careful with our glass n everything. We still kept telling ourself as a staff he is doing his duty and being cautious .I reassured him to twice that don't worry I will take care of things Even after that assurence when my son is seeing the menu this person again interrupts us abruptly tells me your son may tear our menu..This was a limit..It was thick paper laminated menu book which even I wouldn't be able to tear myself.
All this happened inspite my son being in his best behaviour. He was not involved in any destructive activities .He was just strolling around and enjoying himself.
We as parents know our responsibility .We wouldn't walk in to a fine dine without having the confidence to control our child. As the matter of fact we have been to many restaurants in Chennai as well as other places.Nowhere we felt so humilating.
Mr.Owner I would like to give you a suggestion. You may have a restaurant with fancy decor. You might be serving good food as well. But your staff needs to be courteous towards ladies and tolerant towards kids .It's not a crime to come to a restaurant with a baby .We all wish to have good family time.
Thanks for spoiling our weekend dinner . I really don't wish to step into your...
Read moreI recently visited Haven Sampoorna, which is known as one of the few pure vegetarian fine dining restaurants. While the ambiance and presentation are elegant, I honestly felt the experience did not match the hype. The menu is completely vegetarian, which is appreciated, but the pricing is surprisingly very expensive. In fact, many of the dishes are priced even higher than what you would normally pay for non-vegetarian options in other fine dining restaurants.
When paying such high prices, one would expect extraordinary taste and portions that leave you satisfied. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. Some dishes were decent, but quite a few items tasted just “ok” without any uniqueness or standout flavor. The portions are small, and even after ordering more, you leave with the feeling that your stomach isn’t full. For the cost, it’s disappointing to walk away hungry.
The service is polite and attentive, and the presentation of the food is well done, but in my opinion, the overall experience doesn’t justify the high bill. It feels more like you are paying for the brand name and the upscale atmosphere rather than for genuinely satisfying food.
Overall, Haven Sampoorna is definitely overrated. While it’s nice to see a fine dining space dedicated to vegetarians, the taste, value for money, and portion sizes fall short. If you don’t mind paying a premium for the ambiance and pure veg tag, it may suit you, but otherwise, it feels costly without being...
Read moreWell, after hearing great reviews and ratings I finally made my way to this place with high expectations. While the place serves up a great experience generally, I was made to sit in an adjoint cafe with a makeshift long table for a table for 5. While I appreciate their gesture, the lack of coasters, plates, or even proper cutlery only made it seem more makeshift than accommodative. And placing a bunch of napkins on the table with no stand or plate to hold them only affirmed my concerns on their limited hospitality. Any restaurant that serves up pulav with raita should be reasonably able to spin up some curd rice for accompanying babies and elderly. But that was not to be. I faced a simple refusal as it was not on the menu. First time in a premium restaurant ever when asking for off-the-menu curd rice! Same with the complementary or paid salad (or sliced veggies) that is a mandatory accompaniment with any North Indian cuisine. But not here. Not on the menu, won't get it! At least some forks or spoons to eat my biryani? Nope! What started with a cold and tasteless soup, went through a sweet-tasting (supposedly) spicy dum aloo and ended in a lukewarm filter coffee. If I am not demanding zero stars, it is to complement a tasteful quesadilla starter and a rich dal makhani. I wish they improve their service. For the price I am paying, it is reasonable to expect a good experience and not...
