😍 Never thought there would be so many dishes to try in a Italian veg restaurant. They have many branches in chennai. Yet we went to the besantnagar branch. It's located very near to beach and besant Nagar bus stand so easy to reach. They have valet parking. So no worries about parking. The restaurant is functioning in a huge villa size building with excellent ambience and lightings Their service is topnotch, they explain every dishes and help us to select the best suited ones as per our expectations Best part of their food is the presentation skills. They will make us crave for their food just by their presentations. We had the mocktails first to start on a sweet note.. Charcoal lemonade was the odd flavour out there but It failed to satisfy our tastes. But the orange and mango mocktails were refreshing. Next we tried cappuccino Al funghi selvatici - best creamy soup I ever tasted.. They mix the foam from cappuccino coffee and mix with mushroom syrup. Must try here We had four starters Ravioli crocanti - a crunchy starter - most beautiful starter 😍😍😍😍😍 Arancini noci - an oatmeal dish tastes best with their dips Fonduta - their signature dish with grilled vegetables and melted cheese as side Spanakopita marinati - samosa like dishes but with a cheesy touch. We tried two salads Insalata con pere e noci - citrus dressed salad - not my taste Insalata di formaggio di capra - orange honey dressing salad - tastes sweet and yummy Then we moved to main dishes Pizza bianca e Nero - a thin crust pizza crispy and tasty with charcoal base Margherita rustico - a sourdough based pizza - didn't attract me much Torta Di luigi - my favourite pasta here. Pls try this here for a excellent taste Other main dishes we tried are pide solletico, cappelletti duo formaggi, piatto giardino. Among these piatto giardino is a good pizza here made of hummus and vegetables on a flat bread In desserts we tried blueberry cheese cake, tiramisu italiano, chocolate bomb and pannacotta. Pannacotta - my favourite here. It just melts in our mouth. 😍😍😍
Must tries here - pannacotta, torta Di luigi (pasta) , pizza bianca a Nero, insalata Di formaggio di capra (salad), arancini noci, cappuccino Al funghi selvatici (soup)

Read moreI met my dearest friends at Little Italy after a year and we only meet once a year because of living far away. This place has been a favourite among people I know and I can see why. I ordered enchiladas and it was delicious. The cheese fonduta was a treat. I have almost no complaints on the food or the waiters. The blueberry cheesecake did have a completely soggy base though.
So why a 2 star? We went at around 13:30. We were seated upstairs, we ordered drinks and food. After around an hour we were asked to move downstairs because they were closing upstairs. There was a couple seated next to us, but only we were specifically asked to leave. This was asked rather politely, though persistently, and we conceded without any issues.
We were seated in a nice spot downstairs and we continued ordering food. Granted, we were there for a few hours but never without ordering food or eating. Despite the large number of free seats in the restaurant, another group was seated right next to us. They came and went. The waiters continued to offer good service and removed plates as we finished eating. Then a person who appeared to be a staff or in management came to us and rudely exclaimed that he had to switch the airconditioner off since he had it on for 8 hours . We certainly were there for less than half of that time and were not the only ones there.
We, at that point, were already intending to leave but it was highly humiliating to be yelled at when we had been ordering the whole time. The tone he took was completely unwarranted and should not be taken towards a customer who is simply trying to find a place to eat and unwind for a while.
Eating in Italy or in France is not a 1 hour fast food affair. They take it very seriously and take their time. If they are unable to serve customers longer, I'm more than happy to start the process of marking this as a fast food place. We would not have been bothered so much had they just asked us politely and switched off the airconditioner instead of making us feel unwelcome there.
Tldr: good food, decent drinks, choose your dessert wisely, great waiters/servers. Terrible staff.
Did not take any other food...
Read moreLittle Italy is one of my favorite restaurant for decade. After few years visited this restaurant today for buffet. This place is easy to locate. Near Spencer in besant nagar. Valet parking is available. Ambiance is decent. Crowded when I went but got table in ease. Service was decent.
Buffet started with welcome drink which is mint lemon 🍋 and blue lagoon soda. Mint lemon was not that great while blue lagoon soda was excellent. Essence level was spot on for blue lagoon soda. Followed by Veg soup which is short of salt, which post adding it tasted good.
In starters got nachos which is nicely topped, tasted heavenly. Followed by bruschetta and garlic bread. Both are good. All these are served in table.
Post these, went to table for salads, main course and desserts. Pizza 🍕 etc. in main course and most of the desserts are empty. Grabbed one piece of pizza 🍕 when kept but it was not hot. Even lasagna over there was not hot. Later they served couple of pieces of 2 varieties of pizza 🍕 which were hot and decent. Enchiladas served later was not that hot and tasty. The speed of refilling buffet plates needs improvement. We need to wait for each dish most of the time. Even if it is available, it was not hot enough to cherish.
Ordered white sauce pasta in live counter. It was creamy and tasted mouthwatering. In desserts, brownie and red velvet cake are excellent. Ice cream and other dish is not great.
Weekday buffet costed Rs.600/- which is okay considering the location and ala-cart pricing.
Overall it was a mixed experience. Felt like could have gone with ala-cart for...
