We have been associated with Mayura Vilas right from the inaugural day and one thing that has not changed is the quality of food. It is the same home-made flavour and aroma which has become their trademark. Our movements outside the house have increased since we don’t have to wait for food to be prepared at home to begin our outside work – as we are sure that home cooked food will always be available when we return. To cite an example, few days back, I was tied up and could not visit the restaurant on time for lunch. I rushed there by about 1515 hours to somehow get a mouthful to satiate my hunger but found the lights switched off and even the menu board wiped clean. I have gone through many reviews posted so far and they may be justified in their own individual perspective. However, at the end of the day, what really matters is the quality of food and its price. On both these accounts Mayura Vilas have hit a century – either the combo breakfast or full three course meal or variety of evening tiffin. Especially for bachelors and forced bachelors, this is a home away from home. We wish them all prosperity and exponential growth in the...

The meal begins in the most traditional way served on a fresh banana leaf, warm water in a tumbler. You don’t just eat you engage with the food.
Surrounded by greenery, often in homes turned into mess-style eateries or temple-adjacent canteens, the environment adds a spiritual undertone to the meal. It feels like a ritual, not just lunch. Slow fans, natural lighting, and the clinking of stainless-steel utensils complete the scene. This isn't fast food. It's soul food—prepared with intention, served with care, and meant...
