Very good place to dine with family. The rates are slashed and well within limits. My recent visit today (13th July, 2024) confirms my belief that this chain is decided to maintain its standards. This is proved by the heavy crowd both on first floor and on ground floor. Latest update is Self-service in Ground floor is replaced by Table service, which is a welco. me change! Prices are reduced. My earlier review: The chain of Adyar Ananda Bhavan, fondly called A2B is very famous in serving vegetarian Tiffin, snacks and Meals. This branch in M.G. Road Shastri Nagar, is no exception. It continues to maintain its high standard. You will not be disappointed with its wide variety of South Indian snacks like Idly, Dosa, Poori, Pongal varieties and similarly Punjabi and Chinese menu. Their meals and tiffin section in first floor is air-conditioned while the Ground Floor section . But the quality is excellent and the price is nominal. One could see families waiting for their turn on holidays to taste the menu which shows it's popularity. Suddenly there was lull in business and reduction in attendance. Quick service and good ambience add to its merit. Thali Meals available only in the afternoon but a la carte menu is available on the nights. Very tasty South Indian meal at Rs.150 is a steal, North Indian Meal is at Rs.180 and Special Thali at Rs.225. We had ordered two normal Thali meals and Special a Meal. Even normal South Indian Thali at Rs.150 has Unlimited rice, Sambgar, Rasam, Vattha Kuzhambu, Keerai dhall Vegetable, Second Vegetable, Avial (mix of vegetable in curd in Kerala style), curd, Payasam (kheer) and a Big Papad of about 9" size! Don't ask about Special meals, it is still big, with 16 to 17 items and with Soup, fruit salad and ice cream! Valet car parking available. Cash and Cards are accepted and you can order food through Swiggy too. There is a Sweet and Savouries section in ground floor. A must place to visit and enjoy lunch and dinner...
Read moreA2B offers decent food, but there are significant areas that need improvement to enhance the overall dining experience.
Service and Order Timing: One of the major drawbacks is the delay in serving orders, especially dishes coming from the downstairs kitchen, which takes an unusually long time to arrive. Additionally, the waiting management is poorly handled, leaving diners frustrated during busy hours.
Ambiance and Cleanliness: The environment is average, the overall table management and cleanliness are lacking. Tables are cleaned with a cloth instead of proper cleaning agents, and table mats are not cleaned at all. This lack of attention to cleanliness is disappointing and warrants a 1-star rating for table hygiene.
Washroom Maintenance: Washrooms are somewhat managed and meet basic expectations, which is a small positive.
Payment Options: A2B does ensure convenience by accepting all modes of payment, which is commendable.
Food Quality: Despite these shortcomings, the taste of the dishes does meet expectations and remains one of the few highlights of the experience.
Overall Rating: Given the delays in service, average ambiance, poor waiting management, and inadequate table cleanliness, I would rate this visit 3/5. While the food itself is good, the overall dining experience needs significant...

The restaurant was very rush bcuz of some wedding lunch happening. There was no staff available to even check if any table is available. We went to the cash counter if order will be taken for outsiders who are not part of that wedding gang. They said yes so we waited to grab a chair. Finally we got a chair but there was not even a single staff for cleaning or for servicing. We were so exhausted and very hungry .after waiting for 15 mins we went down to check if anything available in GF. We were thankful that it's wasn't crowded. We checked if meals is available but they said we need to go first floor if want to have meals. Later we ordered mini meals and sambar rice. Food was okay as I dint notice much as I was very hungry. But they didn't even give a menu card. When asked they told the prices are different in menu card. Later while eating crowd starting coming to GF as they couldn't bare with the crowd of 1st floor. We could see that meals been served in GF also since FF is so full. It's very irritating that we were neglected to...
