Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Zone 9 Teynampet

We are a family that enjoys sushi and was looking forward to this highly rated restaurant. However the experience was awful from the start. Many dishes weren't available. Once the order was placed for food and drinks, the food came first.

The sushi smelt fishy and the proportion of rice and fish was off. The fried chicken had more French fries and just 3 small pieces. Instead of spicy edamame, we were given plain edamame. Finally the drinks arrived. The cokes were flat. And when it was sent back, the same glass was brought back. Instead of 3 sweet and 3 salt fresh limes, 3 sweet and salt were brought. And when they were sent back, again the same thing was brought back! And in the noodles, we found a huge piece of plastic!!

When we asked to speak to the manager, we were informed that the manager was busy with their new property Wasabi. There was no one in charge. We paid for what we ate and left. Will never go back there again.

Not just the food issues, the service and the response to everything was terrible. Very very disappointing and don't recommend this place at all. Specially since chennai has such fantastic Japanese food...

🍤PRAWN TEMPURA ~ it was a miss for me. It was very sweet, and I couldn’t didn’t prefer it.

🥟AGE GYOZA ~ It’s basically a dumpling that you will get in both beef and chicken, and you can customise it as fried or steamed.. we got the fried ones, and it was perfect👌😋

🍜CHICKEN KAKE UDON ~ it’s a perfect blend of chewy noodles and umami-rich broth. It would be blunt somehow, but they have pretty good choices in Ramens too

Expensive for no good reason.

Let me list how I spent 1000 bucks for 2 dishes only get frustration.

Took 45 minutes and have to ask twice for the food. It's was just yaki soba(Japanese pan fried noodles) not a very complicated disk. I cook it myself some times.

When ordering yaki soba they said I will get prawn and squid. But got only 3 pieces of prawn. No squid in it. Did not even bothered to add extra prawn for the missing squid. Yaki soba is suppose to be pan-fried noodels, but got a soggy noodels. It was made of buck wheat noodes, thats the only authentic part.

Have to ask for water after food being served. Should placed a glass of water first. I asked for cold water. Got a bottle of frozen water. Brain freez!! My mistake.

The fried food was soggy in oil. Was not defrosted properly before putting in oil.

Restraunt was about 1/4th full. Imagine when going when it's crowded.

Wife got a job n went to give a treat. While coming out of the restraunt we forgot that she got a job. Such a mind numbing...
