I'll do my best to review new places I'll visit in the future with this Clint Eastwood theme:
The good: love the decor, layout and lighting. We arrived just before 7 PM. Great staff that smiles and very fast to get their attention (we're the only table being served here for awhile until another customer came).
Menu selection was a bit of Vietnamese, Russian and Indonesian.
Very clean bathroom. 👍😎
The bad: my Vietnamese grilled chicken was missing flavor at the top and as I get to the lower pieces, it became much saltier. This is because the chicken was probably marinated just right before cooking instead of marinating earlier in the day or previous day. Not evenly distributed the spices.
Vietnamese pho broth was missing that tang and smell of (star anise and other herbs). At least they had the 3 bottles that is mandatory for Pho (fish sauce and chili sauce FTW).
The ugly: thankfully nothing seriously bad here which could deter is from coming back to give them a second chance.
Summary: The problem with businesses that tries to do everything like jack-of-all-trade is that they won't please everyone and might even turn off those who are looking for the specific dishes which they could have done better if they were being specialized at to become expert in the community.
If I go to a Thai restaurant in Bali, I wouldn't expect Russian or Balinese dishes... Not saying that's bad. Those who understand will get it though.
Would I be back?...
Read moreA simple and comfortable place to enjoy food. One big remarks I have for this place is that this restaurant is halal. The chef+owner is Muslim and shops the ingredients and stocks of the restaurant by himself.
Their food is comforting yet delicious. Try their soup selections. It's very homemade and soothing. If you into sweet tooth, their desserts also good and yummy. I like the ginger tea that suits for digestion and my condition when I came there.
This place also provided with long sofa for you to relax and chill. They also have band performance every Saturday night. If you want to take away they also have have menus for that right at the top of the stairs. Out side area also have like small gazebo garden area where perfect for morning or early evening eatery.
If you afraid of dogs. No worry. They all locked inside. Perhaps just one or two of neighbor dogs swirl around. If you still a bit scare, call out the workers there and they will help you with it. This place is clean and well. My fave so...
Read moreBali Hampton is a very relaxing place in the early afternoon. We were out for a bicycle 🚲 ride. The hills in the area are steep and come up on you fast. At the top of the last climb was Bali Hampton, and the thought of something cold to drink was high on the list of priorities. Only two other individuals were there on our arrival ... everyone else's loss!
We only wanted cold drinks but quickly decided to order some appetizers off the menu - spring rolls and mozzarella sticks along with strawberry 🍓 and rush berry mango 🥭 smoothies. We were very happy with the quality, price and speed we were served with. Everything was fresh, the mozzarella hot and gooey, the spring rolls hot and crisp ... did I mention we stopped for cold 🥶 drinks? The smoothies 🥤 were rich and ... well ... smooth!
We were happy with the stop, it's close by, we plan on making this a regular stop and afternoon get away. Maybe we'll...
