PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU VISIT THIS PLACE!!! SUCH A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVER THE WEEKEND! came for lunch and read the review was good overall. we ordered tuna poke bowl (for me), chicken katsu curry, katsu donburi, and udon tempura. three of the dishes came faster than the udon tempura. tuna poke bowl was okay, katsu curry was tasteless and katsu itself was too thin, not worth for 80k++, katsu donburi was another disaster where they seemed pour the broth on the top of the katsu so it wasn’t taste crispy at all, this destroyed the whole experience until when they served the Udon Tempura (which came late we almost finished our lunch) was totally complete all of these disasters and successfuly ruin our day. UDON PORTION WAS TOO LESS! we ordered it from main menu (unless if it was a side dish or whatsoever) and it cannot be called as proper lunch, not even half a portion of instant noodle WAS EVEN WORSE EVER, we were very disappointed since someone from us need to skip lunch because we didn’t want to pay for it so we returned it and SURPRISINGLY the staff didn’t do any sh!t to fix and keep saying that was the portion and even she explained that they have already standards of serving it. at least they could do something for that one of us not to skip lunch, she (the staff) offered if we wanted to order anything else and we asked the bill instead, during payment we tried to explain why we couldn’t accept at all and probably will write a bad review online another surprise she seemed doesn’t care at all. please pay attention and for all of you who wants to come here, it’s not recommended please try to find another japanese restaurant as still a lot in Bali which is much much...

To be honest, had a terrible service experience. Food was decent but sad service. Seemed like they were upset that we came in to eat at 9 and wanted us to order minimal food and leave quickly. Never felt this way at a restaurant. We sat and ordered a few dishes and we'd asked the server if we can order another dish later and she said last order for mains is at 10.15pm but dessert can be ordered later too if it's the brownie. All good till then. When we tried ordering one more main dish a couple of minutes after 10.15pm they seemed to have run out of all ingredients. We told her that we didn't even see you check with the kitchen but she kept claiming that she had checked. Then we asked if we can still order dessert and that's when we were told "she will take the order if we eat quickly". I would really suggest that if you are not willing to fulfill orders after 10 pm and want to simple close and go home, just simply tell patrons that last order is at 10 pm. Don't make them feel like they are being pushed out....

TYGR Ubud was a very fun place to try. I really appreciate that they also offer vegan sushi for weirdos like us... haha. The waitress was really nice and we felt well taken care of. On the day we were there (maybe Wednesday?) they offer half off their cut rolls and hand rolls. But you have to order two of the same one. Here's what we tried:

to drink: Green aloe and ginger ale Cut rolls: jackfruit katsu with avocado, spicy tofu and avocado Specialty rolls: crispy spider, over the rainbow

We liked the spicy tofu with avocado and the crispy spider rolls. They were all very fresh and had nice flavor. The Over the Rainbow was pretty disappointing though. Instead of having shredded carrot inside, they had a big chunk of carrot which made it difficult to eat and also took away from the other flavors in the roll. I was really confused by this. The jackfruit katsu roll had an enormous amount of rice.

So overall it was a very fun place to try. I would certainly come back if I'm having a craving for...

We liked TYGR Sushi so much we ate there twice during our five days in the area. I’m a sushi lover and this was easily my favourite spot. The sushi is fresh, tasty and approachable with specialty rolls that are well thought out and full of flavour. The salmon rolls and nigiri were excellent, and there were good veggie options for Stacey as well. Service inside was really good and the restaurant itself has a lovely, welcoming feel. We dined in once and then ordered delivery through Gojek another night. Both times the quality held up. If anything, I could have happily kept eating more but that’s just me and sushi. TYGR Sushi is the best sushi I’ve had in Bali and sits right up there with La Luz for the best food in the area, depending on whether you’re craving Mexican or Japanese.

The place is nice, clean and comfortable, the waiters are so nice and polite. The parking area for car is small, but not a problem if you use motorcycle. I tried Chicken Katsudon (65k IDR), the taste was not so good, lacking of flavor but the rice was good, a typical Japanese Rice. The Agedashi Tofu (35k IDR) was mediocre, tasteless, nothing special like ordinary tofu but soft. I had to add soy sauce to make it tasted better. I also tried Katsu Curry (70k IDR), tasted like instant curry but the katsu was crispy. You can order green tea (20k IDR) if you want to drink a lot as it is refill. All the prices mention above excluded service tax (6%) and Government’s Tax (10%).
