I ordered the sourdough, sashimi, wagyu tartare and cabbage cannelloni along with the vanilla flan.
The bread and sashimi were good.
The wagyu tartare was decent although the sauce on top was a bit saltier than ideal and there was too much of it, which seemed to mask the taste of the beef more than it should.
The cannelloni was decent but forgettable. Not bad, but not commendable either.
The vanilla flan was sweeter than heavier than I would’ve liked. I think it can be improved. I’ve had some excellent flans in the past at other restaurants.
Overall, I don’t have major complaints with the food but I didn’t find it to be special in a way that would keep me returning.
I found the service to be decent but I’m personally not a fan of too many touch points or being asked 4 times over the course of the meal how each dish was. Sometimes there’s more than one person asking it. I think asking 1-2 times over the course of the entire meal is sufficient. But I understand some ppl may prefer it.
As far the the atmosphere or decor, I’m not a fan of it. Ambeince is a bit odd. It’s tooo much blue everywhere. It’s not cozy. It feels more like a club. A bit tacky for my taste. It doesn’t influence my rating much. The food is most important, but it has to be said. I think the interior decor is a miss.
Overall, it’s a 3.5-4/5...
Read moreA reason to return to Bali. I visited for dinner on a night featuring live jazz and tarot card readings, and it was unforgettable. The interior blends retro-futurism with Balinese nature in a way that feels even more magical at night than during the day. The lighting and acoustics were absolutely perfect. Unlike the typical live band experience at most restaurants, the performance here was on a completely different level — authentic, high-quality singing and playing that had me staying at the bar long after dinner just to keep listening.
The food was flawless from starter to dessert (don’t miss the sourdough!), and the service was everything you’d expect from Potato Head: professional and genuinely kind. I was especially impressed by the natural wine tasting curated by their sommelier — thoughtful explanations and spot-on recommendations based on my preferences. Truly memorable.
If this had been the last stop of my trip, I would have packed my suitcase full of their natural wines to bring home.
It’s already a well-known restaurant, but I still hope no one misses out. If you’re staying at Potato Head, this is a must — and even if you’re not, it’s...

I really enjoyed the starter dishes, the wagyu and oyster tartar compliments each other so well, the beef tongue toast was beautifully plated, tender and cooked perfectly. Lovely chicken liver parfait served with milk bread toast, it didn’t feel heavy at all.
Then we had the ceviche, baby corn, cabbage cannelloni and market fish. The grill baby corn was well balanced with the combination of hollandaise and crumbed potatoes.
For dessert we had the chocolate tart and flan. I love the pastie texture of the flan and the pomelo looks so pretty on the chocolate tart and kept a good balance without being too heavy.
For drinks, the cocktail halo halo, refreshing and not too sweet and full of coconut flavour.
It was a lovely experience of Peruvian cuisine using great local ingredients from Bali. Thank you staff Becky and Jeff with great selection of wine and food and I’m excited to come...
