Iwa Restaurant at Hotel Tugu Bali is one of those places that feels like stepping into another world. The setting is rich with character, combining traditional Balinese design with an elegant and intimate atmosphere that makes the entire experience feel special. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are surrounded by art, history, and architecture that make the space feel deeply rooted in culture. It is not just a meal here, it is a chance to slow down and take in the beauty of the surroundings while enjoying incredible food.

The menu reflects the same thoughtfulness as the setting, with dishes that highlight authentic Indonesian flavors while still feeling refined and approachable. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor, with spices and textures that worked together perfectly. The food felt comforting yet elevated, the kind of meal that gives you a real sense of place while still surprising you with little details that make each bite stand out.

Service was attentive and warm throughout the evening. The staff went out of their way to explain dishes, answer questions, and ensure we had everything we needed, which added to the experience. The pace of the meal was relaxed, allowing us to fully enjoy each course without ever feeling rushed. Combined with the atmosphere and the careful preparation of the food, it created a dining experience that felt both luxurious and welcoming.

What sets Iwa apart is how immersive it feels. The balance of culture, artistry, and cuisine makes it more than just another restaurant in Bali. It is a place where you feel connected to the island’s history and traditions while enjoying an unforgettable meal in a setting that feels both timeless and personal. Dining here was one of the highlights of our time in Canggu, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something more meaningful and memorable than a typical restaurant outing. A true...

We were invited to The Nusantara Spice Odyssey at Hotel Tugu Bali and it was a truly special evening. The whole experience felt like stepping into a time capsule of Indonesia’s history and culture. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the atmosphere — the traditional dances, the storytelling through movement, and of course, the incredible flavours from across the Spice Islands.

We tasted dishes from all over the Indonesian archipelago, each one rooted in heritage and beautifully presented. The food was even served on boats, which made it feel truly unique. Adding to the magic were the dancers who performed throughout the evening, with traditions from different parts of the islands brought to life right in front of us.

We dined in a private room that was absolutely stunning, filled with antiques that gave such a sense of history and character. The staff were incredible, making the whole night seamless. A big shout out to Andre, who was so attentive and lovely, adding a personal touch to the experience.

This wasn’t just dinner — it was a cultural journey through Indonesia’s spice routes, traditions, and artistry. A very special night at Tugu that I couldn’t...
