YUKI Canggu — Restaurant in Bali

We recently went to Yuki which was on our list to go to on our previous trip to Bali 12 months ago. Both my husband and daughter had been unwell though so we didnt make it there that time.

Our meal was sensational. We absolutely loved everything including the pineapple sake!

We were having a brilliant time until a family was seated next to us (shared tables). The family had two young daughters who weren't happy to be there. There was conflict between the parents and the mum was taking it out one of the daughters and her husband. She made no effort to show any decorum or consideration for us at the other end of the table.

Berating her daughter and husband constantly and loudly while downing her wines.

After some time I asked her if she could please have some consideration for us who came to enjoy a meal which was costing us $200+ (Au).

The mother never said a word but her husband got defensive and retaliated. A few words were exchanged.

Eventually things settled until we finished our meal and got up from the table to leave when he decided to have another go at us and make a scene, accusing us of attacking them and swearing at them which was a lie and was exactly what he was doing to us. I suspect he was trying to get back in his wife's favour at this point.

Very disappointing outcome for what started off as a lovely, long awaited evening at this restaurant.

Side note. I had asked the Yuki staff if the family could be reseated but this didn't happen. They did ask us if we wanted to be reseated which we declined as we were coming to the end of our meal by this stage and we were also there first.

Safe to say shared dining is not for me after this experience especially when...
