I would like to say that first things first, the staffs are really friendly! Staff greets you with "Irasshaimase!" and immediately navigates you to an empty seat available. Place is quite huge too, and they have a really good taste of music playing in the background :)
Now for the food and drinks - We had some conveyor belt sushi and a Chicken Curry Rice. Also Ocha and Sweet Tea for the drinks.
Conveyor belt sushi starts at 10K (Yellow plates), 12K (Red plates) and 15K (Blue plates). They taste amazingly fresh and good! You can also see how it's made by the chef right from your table. The Chicken Curry Rice tasted so good! The Chicken's soft and crunchy, the half cooked egg was really really soft, the mayonaise on top of the chicken, the potato and the carrot, all of it was really good! The curry does taste really familiar, but I couldn't tell from how and what it's from.
Ocha and Sweet Tea taste quite alright. You can also refill them for free! Will try the Lemon Tea (not refillable) next time.
This has to be my favorite sushi restaurant. Thank you so much and...
Read moreThe place looks amazing, the service not to bad. But OMG, the food, as if none of the cooks ever cooked anything. Simply the worst I've ever had. If the owner could spend on making the place looking awesome, should have also spent on hiring people who actually can cook, better yet, can cook Japanese food which isn't even that hard to begin with.
The portions were pitifully small, equal to kids portions. The taste so odd, especially the sushi, the rice tasted like dried powdery porridge. Whoever enjoyed the food here, definitely have never had Japanese food.
The price so expensive. Everything in the range of 50k and above. For 4 people, we paid around 380k.
If you order hot Ocha tea, it also comes with a small teapot. For cold Ocha, one can refill it again from the drinks refill station.
There were a couple of cockroaches crawling around the table onto the plates when we were eating there. Urrghhh.
Wish I took photos of the food, to show how big the gap between the photos on the menu and...
Read moreI’m honestly baffled at how Sushi Rio at Nagoya Hill has a 4-star rating. First of all, they had no salmon sashimi. Actually, none of the raw fish options were available, which is mind-blowing considering this is supposed to be a Japanese sushi restaurant. How can you even call it a sushi joint when there's no sashimi?
Then came the beef bowl, which was served without a proper onsen egg. Instead of a soft, creamy egg, I got something closer to raw egg white, barely touched by heat. As if that wasn’t enough, the supposedly “hot” noodle soup was just lukewarm, completely ruining the experience.
Honestly, this was hands down the worst Japanese meal I’ve ever had. Poor quality food, missing key items, and nothing that justifies the ratings it somehow has. Avoid this place if you’re looking for anything even close to authentic or enjoyable...
