Bale Udang Bali offers an enchanting setting that transports you to the heart of Balinese culture with its picturesque ambiance. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the restaurant exudes tranquility and charm, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening.

However, for me, while the atmosphere may be captivating, the culinary offerings fail to leave a lasting impression. The food, unfortunately, doesn't quite live up to expectations. Despite the extensive menu boasting traditional Indonesian and Balinese dishes, the flavors often fall short, lacking the depth and authenticity one would hope for. From the first bite to the last, there's a noticeable absence of that wow factor.

Adding to the disappointment is the pricing. Compared to similar establishments in the area, Bale Udang Bali tends to lean towards the pricier end of the spectrum. This may deter some diners, especially considering the somewhat underwhelming quality of the food.

That being said, there's a silver lining to be found in the timing of your visit. For those seeking to make the most of their experience, arriving at Bale Udang Bali around 5 PM or later, preferably for dinner, seems to be the key. The ambiance truly comes alive as the evening sets in, with soft lighting and the gentle rustle of leaves creating a magical atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, its allure lies in its idyllic setting and the opportunity it presents for a serene dining experience. For those willing to prioritize ambiance over cuisine and willing to splurge a bit for the setting, a visit during the evening hours could prove to be a...

Can you find better food elsewhere? Sure. But can you find a better experience/view? That's difficult. The food is good and with fairly good value for the price, but ambiance is the real reason to go. The front yard of this restaurant is deceptively small, this is actually a fairly large establishment with a nice dedicated parking lot. The service is very professional and welcoming, as most places in Bali are. I recall 3 types of seats: indoor, outdoor, and the beautiful pondside gazebos. If you get the gazebo, you can feed the fish (they provide free fish food). The gazebo is "Lesehan" style (sitting cross legged on the floor pillow with a low table), remember to take off your shoes/sandals before stepping up to the gazebo, be careful not to accidentally drop your shoes into the pond (which is exactly the first thing my son did after i warned him). There is a hand washing station right before the gazebo, which is nice so you don't have to go all the way to the main building. The food came out fairly quickly and the portion is fairly large for Indonesian standards. So if you're in Kuta and have grown tired of Jimbaran style experience, give this place a try.

Other tidbits: Their restroom/toilet are clean They have some animals in the property (birds, chickens, a bunny) I told my rental car driver that he could order any food he wanted while waiting, but turned out the restaurant fed the drivers there for free. Very nice touch.

Pro tip for parents: they have an indoor playground for kids,...

This is our maybe 4/5th times coming here and they’re improving! I have to say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our meal. Their warmth and professionalism added a special touch to the entire evening.

We indulged in lobster and crab, which did make us splurge a bit, but every bite was worth it. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor. The quality of the food was outstanding, and it’s clear that the chefs take great pride in their work.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also top-notch—super cozy and inviting, with just the right amount of elegance. It created the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Despite the higher cost, the overall experience felt like a great deal because literally everything was super good. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, it was all spot on.

If you’re looking for a place where you can enjoy delicious food, impeccable service, and a lovely ambiance, this restaurant is a must-visit. I highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely...
