This place came as a recommendation to me when I was searching for Bakmi. It's not far from city centre so took only like a 15 minute grab ride to the restaurant. Visited on a Sunday morning and surprisingly it wasn't crowded, but it started to get crowded as I was about to leave so I suppose people don't come so early for breakfast and do it like a brunch instead? Was given a menu which was everything in Bahasa, couldn't comprehend used google translate also didn't help much. A staff finally tried giving me a pictorial menu and the name also doesn't correspond to the one on the original menu. Anyway just caught the name of the most important noodle dish and order that. Then asked for recommendation whether to order the dumpling soup or the beef ball soup and the staff recommended the latter. Had to pay before they would process the order, and the speed which they served the food to the table was really fast. I First tried the Bakmi Special Mini. I think ordering the mini version is good enough for 1 person. There is an normal version as well I think mini one is good enough but I did see people eating the normal sized one. Noodles were a little cold, but okay for me. The flavours were pretty good and I loved the texture of the noodles and the sauce. All the ingredients in the bowl seemed to complement each other well. The beef ball soup was also pretty decent. They were on the slightly tougher side, but still not bad. Prices were rather reasonable, there are more expensive dishes as well so for my meal I thought was value for money and I was quite full and satisfied. Come early if you want a quiet meal. It gets noisy probably after 10....

The star of the show here is undoubtedly the noodles. They are homemade and have a fantastic texture that pairs beautifully with the savory, thick gravy. The minced chicken, marinated in sweet soy sauce and a blend of fine Indonesian spices, adds a delightful depth of flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Each bite is a comforting experience that feels like a warm hug!
I also tried their otak-otak, which is a popular dish, but I found it a bit too floury for my taste. However, that’s just a personal preference, and many others seem to enjoy it!
Overall, Bakmi Gang Kelinci is a gem that offers a delicious taste of Jakarta's culinary heritage. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and indulge in their legendary noodles. You...
Read moreNot exactly your most comfortable place to enjoy a bowl of bakmi. When we arrived, the place was packed—and not a single staff member in sight to help us find a table. So we wandered around like lost souls.
Eventually found someone who pointed us toward an empty table at the back. Cool. Except it was the smoking area. Inside. In an air-conditioned room. Because apparently, secondhand smoke pairs well with lunch now I suppose? The smell was nasty enough that we had to move.
Now to be fair—the noodles weren’t bad. Not mind-blowing, but decent. Flavor’s alright, though the texture was a bit off; felt slightly overcooked, leaning toward soft and mushy.
The parking situation was awful as well. Classic Jakarta nonsense. Parked for under an hour, just to eat, and the parking guy charged me 10K. For what? Standing there shirtless and glaring at my car? Love that for me.
I have to say that although the food was nice, it wasn't THAT nice for me to go through all...
