Visited Bopet Mini, a legendary spot in Benhil, Jakarta, for authentic Padang cuisine. It’s conveniently located near Jalan Sudirman, making it a great stop for anyone in the area. The place has moved back to its original location, now tucked into a side street, away from the main Benhil street. The good news is, they’ve expanded to 3 floors, so there’s definitely more space compared to before (or maybe it is just my feeling, but at least it feels more comfortable).
We kicked things off with a Nasi Padang (which, yes, we had for breakfast—only at Bopet Mini, right?). The flavors were spot on, with each dish reflecting true Padang authenticity. The Lontong Sayur Padang was equally impressive, bursting with bold, delicious flavors.
We also tried Bubur Kampiun, which was tasty but could’ve been a little thicker for that perfect texture. One of the highlights was the Salalauak, a must-try Padang snack.
We couldn’t leave without picking up a few treats like Pinokuik (the Padang-style pancake), Kripik Balado, and Lupis to bring home—my dad always insists on these! Highly recommend visiting for anyone who wants to indulge in genuine...
Read moreI came here for brunch on Sunday and it's really crowded! Place looks small when i first arrived, however 2nd floor is spacious enough for smokers/non-smokers. They really have every dish from Padang - savory and sweet, simple snacks and heavy dish, many of which I've never seen before. This way, you'll never get bored visiting this restaurant.
It's not the right time to eat Nasi Padang, so i ordered Lontong Sayur + Kerupuk Kulit & Bubur Kampiun. Holy moly, it all tastes so good! I love the rich flavour of Bubur Kampiun; you can taste all the different flavour in every bite. I spend 50 thousand for both dish and the drinks; it was not that expensive.
The downsides are the temperature inside the building (very hot and humid) and the cleanliness of the place. I can understand it since the place is crowded, but it makes me disgusted eating while seeing tissues, used plates, and plastic bottles scattered everywhere under and above the table. If you already feel uncomfortable reading this, then i suggest you go to a cleaner place like Rumah Padang Surya (it's still on...
Read moreIf you're craving authentic Nasi Padang, Bopet Mini delivers a culinary experience that hits all the right notes. I tried the Nasi Rendang and Nasi Telor, and it was nothing short of spectacular.
The Rendang was perfectly cooked, with tender, flavorful beef soaked in a rich, aromatic blend of spices. The slow-cooked gravy had just the right balance of heat and creaminess, making every bite deeply satisfying.
The Nasi Telor, simple yet essential, was the perfect complement. The egg was fried to perfection, with a crispy edge and a soft, luscious yolk. Paired with the fragrant steamed rice, it created a harmony of flavors that felt comforting and indulgent.
What sets Bopet Mini apart is its authenticity. The dishes taste like they’ve been made with love, channeling the spirit of home-cooked Minang cuisine. The portions are generous, the sambal packs a punch, and the prices are reasonable.
This is the kind of meal that leaves you full yet longing for just one more spoonful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a slice of Padang...
