Crio wants to do it all; it's altogether a brunch, tapas, bar, and dessert place. While the dessert was superb, the tapas and cocktail was just not strong enough to stand on it's own. We came for dinner so I can't comment on their brunch.

Tapas & savory dishes: 3.5/5 Dessert: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Price: $$$$ Closing Note

Darn, I didn't know such joint exists in J-town. First, the ambiance is very luxury but also very comfortable, two things that usually doesn't mix. It blew my mind to find out they also have bar and live music stage in the back, WHATT!!! I would hang out there, with or without the food.

That said, let's talk food. The salad is exceptional; super fresh and good balance between the soft and the crunch. The carbonara pasta is excellent. The beef tartar is super fresh and good, and I love how they pair it with some kind of hash brown. The Buntut Bakar is very decent and very meaty. The Salmon Carpacio shines like a bright star!! The salmon is drench in some out of this world broth and paired with minced truffle, it's simply an explosion of taste on steroid in my mouth. Grilled chicken is very good, and when they pair it with super smooth mash potato it suddenly become a masterpiece. The pizzas are awesome, I especially recommend the mushroom pizza.

Now let's talk desserts. It's an open secret that this restaurant has a US trained chocolatier as the pastry chef, so I expected good stuff and boy he didn't disappoint. One look at the pastry kitchen you know they mean business. The fact they have special counter for their pastries means they're proudly showing you their good stuff. All the chocolates, the mousse, the cakes, fused with unusual ingredients gave the patrons out of this world experience. Lastly, I have to warn you about their chocolate-covered macadamia nut; I'm not responsible if you're addicted to it.

Ambiance is great for all purposes, either you want to have full dinner with family, or enjoy quiet time with some drinks and sweets, or hang out with your friends. Is it expensive? A bit, but worth every penny you spend here. Would I come back? In...

You love chocolate? Then this one is a must visit. I went here with my friend a few days ago, and we have 2 of the handcrafted chocolate:

Le Rouge (the red one) at IDR 65K Vanilla Bavaroise w/ Planifonia Vanilla Bean, Strawberry Raspeberry Gelee, Almond Cake & Praline Crunch

Mr. Earl (the orange one) at IDR 65K Apa aja di dalamnya? As per their information: Dark Chocolate infused Earl Grey Tea Mousse, Orange Caramel Cremeux, Dark Chocolate Sponge, Dark Chocolate Sable

Both of them are recommended. Not overwhelmed by the sweetness. We also have plain croissant (at IDR 26K); but this one not made in here. For beverage, we have iced long black (at IDR 45K), americano (at IDR 45K) & caramel latte (At IDR 55K).

They are not serving handcrafted chocolate only, but also tapas and other main course and alcohol. You may dine in here with your family or with your colleagues. If you wish to enjoy live music, better come on Friday or Saturday. Since there is no outdoor area, there is one area for smokers, at the front of the restaurant. Sort of like private room. There is also another private room on the second floor, above the bar.

When we were chatting, the chef: Richie Pratadaja approached us and three of us have a little bit of chit chat. And surprisingly, we got complimentary: Hazelnut Bar (Crunchy Hazelnut Gianduja).

Totally love them! A must visit, especially if you...

Crio wants to do it all; it's altogether a brunch, tapas, bar, and dessert place. While the dessert was superb, the tapas and cocktail was just not strong enough to stand on it's own. We came for dinner so I can't comment on their brunch. >> Tapas & savory dishes: 3.5/5 << The fusion indonesian cuisine offered often fell a bit flat. That the two fused flavors are less interesting than the two inspiration instead of being greater than the sum of it's part. The tempe nachos is just tempe accompanied by typical american yellow cheese dip, chili con carne and sambal matah. The short rib is typical indo, if not a bit tough, with some lime lead rice. The chocolate poached chicken is quite interesting and well made, but note that this is not mexican mole. The hidden tuna looks stunning, but was quite ordinary in flavor. Shrimp and nori stick was tasty. Octopus was a touch overcooked. Overall, the dishes are decent but never touched the excellent mark. >> Dessert: 5/5 << The entremets/petit gateaux and chocolate truffle/bonbons are excellent. Azedo (strawberry yuzu) and Kaffe (kahlua choc) was particularly great. Great flavors combination, good chocolate and never too sweet or cloying. Cakes are light and have great texture pairing from the sable/puffed rice. One of the greats in Jakarta! >> Drinks: 4/5 << Cocktail list is short, but they do offer a long list of liquor selection. Will come back to try more but the ones we tried was descent . >> Ambience: 5/5 << Crio's interior royal blue and bronze interior in bright warm lighting brought in an exquisite vibe. Table was a bit small considering the many dishes we ordered. Whoever's playlist it was playing please let's be friends. Chill modern r&b soul like Tom Misch and FKJ accompanies you at the right level to have conversations. >> Price: $$$$ < About 500k per pax for dinner + dessert >> Closing Note << Chef Richie brought his pattiserie expertise coming from his extensive experience in NYC (LCB NYC alum). Naturally the desserts are all 💯. The dinner side of things are not as stellar unfortunately. Looking forward to more amazing desserts coming from Crio, and hopefully a much better tapas to equal the dessert's level.
