Din Tai Fung — Restaurant in Jakarta

Just made my second visit to this restaurant. First review below. Food was average, vegetarian dumplings were tasteless and the iced tea was bitter, staff unfriendly and seem unhappy. This place needs new management. I won’t be back unless there is a major change .

First visit - The Lotte Din Tai Fung is not up to the standard expected of this restaurant chain. The food was good but most staff are unfriendly and look bored. The place was almost empty but my order took forever to arrive and they got it wrong! They seated everyone right next to each other despite there being plenty of space. I asked to move and I watched other patrons ask to move when they saw we were all being seated right next to each other. People want some privacy to have conversations- why seat everyone on top of each other? The staff and managers here need to be better trained.

Lotte Din Tai Fung tidak memenuhi standar yang diharapkan dari restoran ini. Makanannya enak tapi sebagian besar staf tidak ramah dan terlihat bosan. Tidak banyak pengunjung tetapi pesanan saya butuh waktu lama untuk tiba dan itu salah! Mereka duduk semua orang di sebelah satu sama lain meskipun ada banyak ruang. Saya meminta untuk bergerak dan saya melihat pelanggan lain meminta untuk bergerak ketika mereka melihat kami semua duduk tepat di sebelah satu sama lain. Orang-orang ingin privasi untuk berkomunikasi - mengapa setiap orang duduk di atas satu sama lain? Staf di sini perlu...

Visited Din Tai Fung at Lotte Avenue and tried their Wonton Noodle and Lumpia Kulit Tahu. The experience was overall satisfying!

🍜 Wonton Noodle The noodles were cooked perfectly—chewy with just the right bite. The broth was clean and comforting, not too oily or overpowering. The wontons themselves were generous in size, with a soft wrapper and a flavorful meat filling. A solid, comforting dish that feels light but filling.

🥢 Lumpia Kulit Tahu This was the standout for me. The skin was crispy and not greasy, while the filling was savory and well-seasoned. It came with a dipping sauce that complemented the lumpia really well. Great texture and taste overall.

✨ Service & Atmosphere As always, Din Tai Fung keeps a consistent and clean ambiance. Service was attentive and quick, even during busy hours.

Din Tai Fung is one of the very famous Taiwanese restaurants in various countries and there are already restaurant branches, one of them in Indonesia has several Din Tai Fung restaurant branches. All food served here is very delicious from seafood dishes, meat, vegetables, dumpling especially with xiao long bao. Besides the main menu, the dessert is also very interesting and delicious. I am also among those who love Asian food, especially delicious and lots of vegetables of course. Note : If you want more privacy for meetings during lunch or dinner hours Din Tai Fung also provides a place to eat that is privacy room and better booking a place in advance.
