Django's by Hotlicks — Restaurant in Jakarta

Django's is a Texas BBQ restaurant and bar that has a spacious space both in the indoor and outdoor areas. The place is comfortable, with a good ambiance and friendly service.

For this first visit, we tried some of their menus as the part of fresh from their terminator. They recommend us to reserve a seat in advance, so that we did that. We we came here before the dinner time around 5PM, it was still less people here. But the more night, the more people came.

Smoked USA Baby Back Ribs Half Rack (IDR 349,000) It's available in full rack (12 bones) and half rack (6 bones). So, this is the tender baby pork ribs that is smoked low and slow for 8 hours in the sweet and savory BBQ sauce. My number 1 favorite here as I love pork! 😍 Recommended!

Lamb Chop (IDR 495,000) 300 grams of smoked double lamb chop made with Australian lamb, and served with mint sauce. I'm not a fan of lamb, but I could say that Django's cooked the lamb well, so that there was no unpleasant aroma from the lamb itself. I did like the salad.

Smoked USA Beef Brisket 300 grams (IDR 450,000) It can be served from 100 grams. Since we shared the foods together, so we ordered 3 portions / 300 grams for this one. The typical of Texas BBQ brisket with authentic low and slow smoked. This tender brisket is served with a couple of butter toast. My 2nd favorite here! Recommended!

I've been hoping for decent tex-mex food in my part of Jakarta for a long time, and this place really delivered. I had a meltdown burger, and the meat, made from smoked brisket, was absolutely delicious. The tomato soup was lightly spiced and full of flavour, a perfect a compliment! My wife had chicken fajitas. The chicken is also smoked and has a wonderful flavour, served with plenty of sides. The potato salad was recommended so we tried it. It has a slightly sour mayo and goes well with the spicy dishes.

The restaurant also gives you three types of bbq sauce for your meal. Honey & Jalapeños, Kentucky (with real whiskey), and hot lava. These are one of the stars of the meal.

The atmosphere was comfortable, music was good and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Yes, it's on the expensive side, but the authentic food and friendly staff are worth it!

I'll for sure come back again, if not to try one of the largest selections of tequila...
