It is located on the ground level of Menteng Central. The service is great, the ambience is nice. Banh Cuon (steamed chicken roll) is delicious (IDR40.5K tax excluded). Cha Gio Tom (fried shrimp roll) is fine (IDR41.5K tax excluded). Bu Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) tastes spicy as its name and also a bit sour so it reminds me of tom yam (IDR68.5K tax excluded). Pho Bo Chin (beef noodle soup) tastes so good, it brings the good old memories of the pho I used to enjoy during winter in Newtown, Sydney. Pho Bo Chin is IDR68.5K and just like what they do with Bu Bo Hue, they serve the veggies and chilli and lime separately to suits your style. Com Rang Hoang Hau (fried rice) is yummy (IDR63.5K tax excluded). For dessert, we order Che Dau Do (red bean soup with pandan sticky rice). It is surprisingly nice despite it comes warm, not cold. Took the family here after reading a favorable review and recommendation from a friend. We ordered a fried and fresh spring rolls, a barbecue chicken rice, grilled beef rice, a couple of pho noodles and iced coffee milk. The food was decent but I was disappointed because I had high hopes coming in and they did not live up to it. The pho noodles almost got it right but the soup were not hot enough. The rice dishes were below the competition's offering. One thing that I did not have any complaint was the iced coffee milk.

A lot of my feedback is base on my past experience eating at Vietnamese restaurants in the US and Australia. Maybe the Vietnamese owners in aforementioned countries were hands on cooking the dishes thus resulting with a more authentic taste. Or, maybe, nostalgia got the better of me. Quick lunch at Do An will never go wrong. I usually order the refreshing & tasty Pho Bo Sukiyaki here. The beef broth was light and the meat was quite tender, perfectly complemented by the mint leaves & bean sprouts. The fresh spring roll (goi cuon) is a must for me as appetizer, and the fried spring rolls (either cha gio tom/Prawn or nem rang/chicken & mushroom) is a side dish that gives different texture for a better Vietnamese culinary experience. Overall the last time I was here a couple weeks ago the food was consistently amazing and the Vietnamese iced coffee tasted like the original. The relatively small place was the only minor thing that the atmosphere was just not there to really enjoy the dishes, but I would still definitely come back here...
