Hanamasa — Restaurant in Jakarta

This was my first time dining at Hanamasa in years, and it used to be a popular shabu restaurant that my family loved to visit. Unfortunately, this experience didn't meet my expectations as an all-you-can-eat enthusiast. The prices were high compared to what we received, including non-refillable drinks, fell short.

The food selection was diverse, but mostly comprised processed foods. I was particularly disappointed to notice a fly at the dessert station, and the staff seemed indifferent. Service needs improvement; with a seemingly understaffed team, addressing requests took longer despite the restaurant not being very crowded during my visit. Every time I asked their help, they seemed unhappy (not even smile!)

Important suggestion: Please install exhaust fans, as your grill menu leads to a strong, unpleasant odor. Many visitors were coughing due to the intense smell, and the ventilation was poor.

Based on my understanding, this establishment is the first Hanamasa in Jakarta (correct me if am wrong), hence you can feel the 90's through their interiors. Strategically located in South Jakarta but facing tough competition from neighboring Korean all-you-can-eat restaurants. So you know, they charged you extra for the beverages so better choose for refillable drinks. This place is not family friendly since they allow (or couldn't prohibit) smoking in the full air conditioning rooms. Hey, but if you looking for low-priced menus compared to nearby all-you-can-eat restaurants, then this place can be your best choice...

Hanamasa sudah lama sekali jd favorit keluarga besar gue & keluarga besar istri; kami sdh coba berbagai cab spt di Mahaka mall, Artha Gading, fX Senayan, Plaza Semanggi, Penvil, PIM, Poins Sq, Tamini Sq, dsb -- semuanya bikin nagih! Tapi paling lekat di hati tetap cab Mahaka mall & Penvil 👍

Sebaliknya, cabang tertua di jl Mahakam Blok M inilah satu2nya DAN pertama Kali yg bikin kecewa berat. Jadi kami lsg share ke para keluarga besar dan rekan2: hindari! Kenapa? Karena:

Parkir susah Meja ex tamu sblm nya lama sekali dibersihkan Krn nya kami menunggu cukup lama pdhl terlihat banyak meja yg sudah kosong Pesan es teh manis doang baru diantar hampir sejam kemudian, itupun setelah bolak balik manggil & lantas eskalasi mjd complaint. Warteg di atas got aja jauh lbh cepat, boss! Bahan2 daging nya di bawah standar; boro2 lawan kompetitor, lawan hanamasa cabang lain aja kalah Lemak utk masak nya cepat hancur DAN tidak direfill walau sdh berkali2 minta sampai bosan Pelayan pasang muka judes & lbh cinta melihat ujung sepatu nya sendiri (alias nunduk terus) Pelayan membersihkan meja di depan tamu sambil ngomel ke teman nya & merapikan piring/gelas dg gaya kasar Jumlah pelayan terlalu sedikit dibandingkan tetamu

Bila ternyata overhead cost membuka tempat sendiri pun di daerah super elit dirasa terlalu besar, sebaiknya tutup saja cabang ini & pindah ke dalam mall; misal Blok M Mall yg tetangga nya. APA gunanya sekedar mempertahankan warisan & klangenan semata tp melupakan prioritas Anda, yaitu...
