I recently visited this steak restaurant with my wife, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.
We ordered a sharing portion of steak priced at IDR 300,000. When it first arrived, the meat had a strong unpleasant smell. At first, we thought it might be because we ordered it medium, as we usually do when dining at other steak places (where medium or medium-well has never been an issue). We sent it back to the kitchen and asked for it to be cooked well-done, but even after that, the smell remained. For the sauce (chimi & mushroom) it doesn't give the flavour we expected. It just..bland. The only good was the salad. We trully like the spinach as it was had more flavor than the steak or the sauce.
As for the drinks, we ordered iced tea and iced orange juice. They were fine, but nothing special—just average compared to our usual standards.
Another unpleasant part of the experience was the parking situation. We were asked to move our car three times because the spot in front of the restaurant was reserved for valet parking and we only told after the second parking attemp. If you don’t want to use valet, you have to park on the side of the street, which is also paid parking but without any proper arrangement, making it messy and inconvenient.
Overall, both the food and the parking situation left us with a negative impression. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreTokyo Skipjack always gives the best shot on their servings, especially the meat and its side dish. Sadly they ran out of the 300gr NZ rib eye, so I ordered the 200gr NZ tenderloin in medium. But still, the meat was perfectly cooked and so flavorful, even without the sauce (which you can pick from many range of choices—I picked creamy mushroom as my favorite. The chimichurri is my runner up sauce).
Japanese green salad (spinach with shoyu and sesame dressing plus a little hint of tangy lemon/citrus) is the one to have as side dish. It is wonderful. You can taste the freshness and crispness of the spinach leaves as you chew, and at the same time your tongue is tasting the delicious dressing.
What could be improved was the ambience and experience of eating in. The table was a little shaky and not sturdy enough to sustain the movement of cutting the meat—imagine when it is two people eating together at one table and the shakiness just ruins the mood slightly. And bring your own hand sanitizer before dining in because I was not sure about the toilet cleanliness, especially when you want to wash your hands...
Read moreA good place to satisfy your cravings for meat. They have a good selection of meats, the option sauces are also abundant. My favorites are the rib-eye steak, medium rare, with mashed potato and spinach salad. The meat is very juicy, perfectly cooked, and the spinach, it's really can satisfy your appetite. The atmosphere is good enough, both the outdoor sittings and indoor sittings. The staffs are also great, they can give you advices for what's best for your taste. They also update you with what promo is on. The only thing that lacking is the parking space, yes, it's not the only business in the building, yes, they have their own parking area, but it's still not big enough to accommodate their customers, but the security is very helpful to help you find a parking spot. I would definitely be a regular customer in here, I never disappointed and went home with smile on my face and a full belly every...
