Hoshino Coffee, Lotte Shopping Avenue outlet — Restaurant in Jakarta

One of my fave cafe to visit with my old friends. The place was comfortable, spacious, and somehow gives a private vibes. We also love the classic interior, other than the food of course.

The souffle egg is a must try, it was very fluffy and enjoyable. The curry katsu rice was also yummy, a special Japanese style curry with very crispy katsu. I've tried the grilled chicken as well, which was yummy. They serve Japanese food mostly, including Japanese milk tea and coffee. So, don't expect the coffee to be thick and all. Lol.

To be fair, we have tried almost all the menu, including the souffle pancake, and we love them all lol.

Place was spacious and comfy, people were friendly, service was a bit slow because the people are less than usual these days, price was a bit higher than most, but still acceptable.

Located on the 3rd floor of Lotte Shopping Avenue makes us can see the Karet highway from the windows. There are table partitions for tables for two which makes the room private enough, but still can be heard or seen.

They claim the coffee is 100% from arabica, but it tasted too bitter or not fresh. For the Pancake Soufflé Style is as my likely. Pancake style, not fluffy soufflé like pan*ake & co, so it is so nice for my taste. Big enough for double pancake to be shared with the other. Iced Matcha Latte is thick and tasteful. Better to order this rather than the coffee for those who is not a coffee lover so much.

Lack of waiters or waitresses, but still okay since they are working fast. There is a Japanese chef also.

Food was quite good, in fact all the pasta and rice menu we ordered is very delicious, especially we are very impressed with the big airy balloon like omelette in the curry rice, quite silky and curry taste the same like in Japan.

However big major letdown was in the Soufflé Pancake which come in surprisingly big portion, however upon first scooping it the texture is really weird and hard because it’s more like a sponge/muffin cake (bolu) unlike any other Soufflé Pancake we tried in other japan restaurant which is very silky and light. Not to mention due to the huge portion it really take a toll on our stomach, imagine we ordered 1 pancake to share 4 adult & 2 kids, all dislike this pancake.
