Joni Steak — Restaurant in Jakarta

An affordable restaurant with a simple, warm interior. We came at around 9:20pm but they still kindly let us in. The servers were friendly and the place had good air conditioning.

The food arrived quickly considering we ordered 6 dishes (4 steaks and 2 chicken dishes). My mom had the sirloin steak of which I took a bite and it was actually good considering the price (she ordered a combo with a drink and creme brulee at under 160k). I ordered the chicken mozzarella with potato wedges and mixed veggies. Unfortunately the grilled chicken was overcooked and thus dry; it was still good but I was a bit disappointed as they had cooked the steaks just fine. Meanwhile ironically the mixed veggies hadn’t been cooked long enough so it still had that freezer taste to it 😅 My sister had the same issue. I can cut them a bit of slack considering it was half an hour to closing time so they were probably rushing or something, and at least their garlic bread was SCRUMPTIOUS. So were the potato wedges—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The teh tarik was nice, not too sweet at all. We enjoyed the creme brulee as well (only 16k!)

Disappointed overall.. For taste it self, this joni steak is not bad, but the servers are a bit rude (at least their gesture said so), the quality of the meat wasn't really good either, and the last thing that pissing me off was that i cannot ask more than 1 per person for extra sauce, so if 3 of us ate there, we could only ask for 3 extra sauces regardless of the amount of sauce that we were served on our plate at the beginning and if we want more, we have to pay for them. In my opinion sauce should not be a problem in a steak restaurant because they sell the meat not the sauce. That's all.. thanks..

Just ate here, 25jan19, and now was even worse, we cannot ask for extra sauce at all for free, we have to pay for every extra sauce that we ask.. mann.. the quality wasn't improved at all,...

second time i eat joni steak. but not this branch actually. but yesterday (31 des) i tried this branch. first of all, i have to wash my hand and tell security for waiting list. security is not friendly anymore. should he tell in front of us with a louder sound "yang berlima nanti aja katanya nunggu meja lain lagi saja"? it sound that we troublesome his job. when we got the table, they separated us to 3 table, 2 2 1. i know it's because social distancing, but what i confused about is they told to 1 group (3 people) to sit together which our table is bigger than that group. it's unfair. i ordered rib eye with lemon tea, mushroom sauce, it's delicious, unfortunately a little burnt but that's okay. i can cut easily too. mashed potato sold out when i came...
