This cafe are so beautiful, not only sell coffee and snacks but also some heavy meals like rice, and wine as well. Luxury experiences in traditional culture, specifically Javanese. Read moreI often pass by Jl. Kebon Sirih and notice Kawi Sari Coffee, yesterday, on Friday, I decided to drop by and have a coffee. The classic architecture of this cafe is really cool and interesting. It has two floors, where the first floor has both an outdoor and indoor area, although the space is a lil bit narrow. Then, climbing on to the "classic" stairs requires caution because they are high and somewhat extreme when you reach the top, but it's one of those classic experiences, in my opinion. Upon reaching the second floor, the ceiling is high, and there is a spacious indoor area with plenty of chairs and tables, as well as an outdoor area, which I find the most interesting. It consists of rows of sofas on the left and right sides, with regular tables and chairs in the middle, and at the end, there is a bar area.
The service from the staff at Sari Kawi is excellent, from greeting-menu selection-serving, there are no issues. They are friendly and kind. However, I will explain later after I list the menu items that were ordered.
I ordered:
Baileys Liqueur Chocolate Delicious, chocolate and Baileys are indeed a perfect match. It's not too strong, in my opinion, and the drink is spot on. Latte It's also tasty, the coffee is strong and not mediocre like in regular cafes. it was okay, in my opinion, but I'm just someone who likes to try different types of coffee, not an expert in coffee. Cascara Plantation Cinnamon French Vanilla Latte Nasi Besek Ayam Goreng Goela Merah Nasi Besek Ayam Goreng Kremes Nasi Jagung Tompoh Kawi Sari Pancong with Vanilla Ice Cream
The issue I had was with the order of Nasi Besek Ayam Goreng Goela Merah, which was consumed by my sister. In terms of taste, presentation, and serving size, there were no issues. However, while she was biting into the chicken and tahu bacem, unexpectedly, there was an iron fiber (similar to a dishwashing scrub) found in either the chicken or tahu bacem. My sister called the waiter, who contacted the kitchen and requested evidence, but there was no explanation provided until the bill was presented, and only an apology was given. Overall, the dining experience was memorable, and I would consider revisiting with friends or my partner. Sari Kawi is a place with a pleasant atmosphere for conversations, both indoors and outdoors (although it can be a bit hot, even when I visited in the evening). The drinks are delicious and...
Read moreKawi Sari Cafe & Eatery for me is memorable. We reserved our table for two and they wrote my name on a large (actual) leaf that I've never experienced before. As you see in the photos, the place itself looks amazing with strong Javanese taste to the furniture, wall decorations, lamp and mainly the food on the menu.
When I saw the list of food, they offerred wide range of Javenese snacks and of course variety of coffee to choose from. I was craving for pancakes so I ordered All-Day Pancake and enjoyed it with Premium Honey Fermented Arabica.
I personally love the All-Day Pancake even though I'm sure you can get pancake elsewhere, but it's not disappointing where its texture is soft and fluffy which is rarely found here in Jakarta where usually pancakes are flat and hard. They topped it off with caramelized banana, butter, homemade peanut butter, strawberry and of course maple syrup. All the toppings complementing each other well where they gave the sweetness through banana, a bit of saltiness from the peanut butter, the savory from the butter and sourness from the strawberry, so you can get a lot of combination in one bite up to your liking, I personally ask for more maple syrup.
The Premium Honey Fermented Arabica is also very likeable. It's fragrant and soft to the palate where we can taste and smell the honey used in the beans. They also gave us milk, sugar, brown sugar and other things to add taste to the coffee, but I'm enjoying it without anything else and I'm pleased.
If you like to take pictures, it's really easy to get good pictures here since the place is already amazing so you don't need a lot of effort to get a good picture here. However, I recommend to look for slow hours since it's quite packed with a lot of customers on meal time so you can take pictures without another person in it.
All in all, good place, good food, variety of authentic food and drinks to choose from. Will definitely come back here with the family to enjoy coffee time and...
