Just had a romantic dinner at Kita Restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. We arrived on the 37th floor around 5:30 PM to enjoy the sunset between the surrounding skyscrapers. We were welcomed with a warm greeting and served hot towels to wipe our hands. Our server, Yahya (if I’m not mistaken), kindly explained the special menu and mentioned that several dishes had been renewed. I chose to be served course by course to fully enjoy the experience 😁
For the appetizers, I ordered the Live Smoked Wasabi Ponzu Dry-Aged Salmon with Avocado, the Steamed Abalone and Three Kinds of Shellfish with Garlic Butter Sauce, and the Kita-Style Salmon Kimchi. The smoked salmon had a limey taste from the ponzu—fresh, sour, and savory—similar to a citrus vinaigrette. The avocado’s buttery texture melted right in my mouth. The abalone was a little firm for my taste, but the garlic butter sauce was creamy (not too thick) and very fragrant. The salmon kimchi consisted of a few slices of salmon with kimchi sauce; it wasn’t spicy, but had a pleasantly sour note.
For the main course, I ordered the Dragon Roll with King Tiger Prawn Tempura, the Wagyu Beef Hamburg Steak, and the A5 Miyazaki Beef with Grilled Bone Marrow Clay Pot Rice and Fresh Japanese Pepper. I especially enjoyed the Dragon Roll—it had a satisfying crunch from the prawn tempura, a smooth texture from the avocado, and rich flavors from the eel and sea urchin sauce. The beef hamburg was juicy, though the demi-glace sauce was a bit bland for me. The clay pot rice was the highlight of the meal. The live presentation at the table instantly increased our appetite as the server opened it. The beef was tender, soft, and melted easily, as expected from such high-quality meat. The rice had a light broth flavor and paired well with the hamburg steak.
Overall, I was very satisfied with both the food and the service. The staff even held a short toast to thank the guests for dining and enjoying the evening. To top it off, since it was a special occasion, I received a surprise complimentary cake at the end.
Thank you for the memorable...

The decor of the restaurant is absolutely stunning—elegant yet cozy, with an ambiance that makes you feel both special and at ease. It perfectly complements the amazing views of the city, which made our romantic dinner even more magical. The music set the perfect tone for the evening, adding just the right touch to our experience.
A special shoutout to the waitstaff, who were all incredibly professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. Although I can't recall his name, our server was exceptional, guiding us through the menu with expert recommendations and ensuring our every need was met. The level of service we received was outstanding and made the evening even more memorable.
Before leaving, we decided to check out the bar downstairs, and it was the perfect way to end the night. Whether you're grabbing a quick drink or just snapping a few photos, it's a great spot to unwind.

Read moreDuring my five-night stay at the Park Hyatt Jakarta, aside from dining once at The Dining Room, I had dinner at Kita on four evenings. Whether it was sushi, teppanyaki, or other dishes, even the music and the staff’s service—all carried a rich, authentic Japanese flavor that made the experience truly enjoyable. On the first night while ordering, I happened to be seated under an air-conditioning vent. As the cold air blew directly down from above, I instinctively rubbed my arms for warmth. The restaurant staff member, Yalrya, noticed and kindly asked if I needed a scarf or shawl. Then last night, just as I was reading the menu to order, I found the lighting a bit dim and struggled to see clearly. Suddenly, the lamp above me brightened! These little details of service are things only attentive managers or staff would think to do—thank you for that. I also want to thank Chef Takeda for preparing such delicious dishes with fresh ingredients. Since I am allergic to shrimp and crab, I had filled out the pre-stay questionnaire noting my allergies. I’m also grateful to Teppanyaki Chef Gose, who substituted some ingredients with chicken for me. Still, over the past few days, I couldn’t resist trying the teppanyaki lobster and the tempura shrimp. Amazingly, I didn’t have any allergic reaction on either night, which shows just how incredibly fresh the seafood was—my body gave the best response possible. Special thanks to Okta and the chefs for their warm hospitality, as well as to the staff for their thoughtful cooking and dedicated service. I never expected that dining over these few days would feel as joyful as making many new friends. I’ve only just returned to Taipei, and I already find myself...
