Went there a few months ago for a celebration dinner with my wife. Ordered their house smoked salmon, fried calamari, the Lawry’s Cut set for each and no dessert (which I’ll explain later why). Emphasis of this review is food.
Welcome bread was good and butter to go along with it of good quality but we didn’t go there for that and first thing we ordered, house smoked salmon, was impeccable. Cured and only lightly smoked, I feel more than anything else they must have wanted to highlight quality of fish used. It came with a small loaf of toasted brioche bread split in half, buttery and divine, and some kind of cream with herbs. Mindblowingly good eaten together.
Fried calamari was not your frozen calamari you get from a supermarket for the squid slices were not uniform. Flour coating light, flesh SUPER sweet and bouncy and remoulade sliced through the richness of each morsel. Amazing stuff.
Spinning bowl salad tasted almost exactly like it was two decades plus ago at their old Jakarta location. Served on a COLD plate as every proper salad should. Veg super fresh and slightly burnt croutons impossibly heavenly they tasted… rich and creamy! But I do distinctly remember that the thousand island dressing was a pinch too tangy for my personal taste.
The Lawry’s Cut is 280gr or something close on their menu but the carver carved a much bigger slice for us. I know my steaks and what sat on our plates had to be at least 300gr. Medium rare, wall-to-wall pink. Creamed spinach NOT overly creamy, creamed corn NOT overly sweet, Yorkshires light and fluffy, au jus deep with plenty of roasted protein notes, horseradish cream sharp. Waiter came back with another gravy boat of au jus when he saw ours were running thin. Great attention to detail on the service front but most importantly, death row dish-level good.
Given how large our prime ribs were we just didn’t have room for dessert in our respective tummies. No alcohol and bill came out to be in the higher Rp 2jt or lower 3jt range. I don’t remember exactly.
So final thoughts, they say great things are done by a series of small things brought together and this old adage is on point for the food there. By having their smoked salmon only lightly cured and not too overly smokey makes the final bite with toasted brioche and cream that tiny bit more balanced. Likewise their creamed spinach and corn are never meant to overshadow the tableside-carved star...

The interior was warm with golden dark brown wall and floor shining with yellow light lamps, and their Christmas decorations with Christmas tree, wreath beautiful! There also christmas caroling 😆👏🏻
If you want to go this place, better reserve first. Because this time it will be full since it near christmas and year end holiday 🥳🍸
Okay, so .. we ordered 2 main menu, 1 dessert and 1 cocktail.
All the server's, really treat us well! They inform us about the menu, how to eat that and what it is. They really helpful and responsive thank you so much :)
We served complimentary bread which is very nice, with outer crisp and soft inside pair with salt buttery 🥳🤤
I love the cocktail, it has sweet-tangy and spicy feel when you sip! I can't detailed it since I not remember what the ingredients 😂 but I Definitely will order theirs another cocktail to try next time!
If you ordered Lawrys cut, you will get package : Yorkshire pudding, spinning salad & the Ribs meat.
The meat was tender, also juicy. it effortlessly to chew and effortlessly to cut. I try it little, the taste is soft. You can pair it with mash potatoes and the sauce it will levitate the layering. In one plate there's many taste that if you combine it will be whip your taste bud 😆
I thought the yorkshire pudding was sweet, but turns out it like a savory bread pudding. It quite greasy for me.
To eat that yorkshire you need dip it to the steak sauce then try with their kind of wasabi butter, cute layering of taste. Give you creamy wasabi Sensation 🥳
For salmon, it's like an ordinary salmon lemon steak which is yummy with their lemony butter sauce.
The salad awesome! It has different dressing from another restaurant that I've ever try. I really love this!!
The least but not last, their Fantasy cake very nice treat for dessert! The chocolate combining little sweet with dark chocolate taste and pairing with their homemade vanilla ice cream made the cake have glamorous taste!
If you looking for steak experience, hop in this place and try their...
Read moreAfter years away from the unique dining experience that Lawry’s offers, I recently had the pleasure of dining at their Jakarta location, a delightful echo of my fond memories from the Los Angeles branch. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance struck a perfect balance between elegant and welcoming, a hallmark of Lawry’s that I’ve always appreciated.
The prime rib, a centerpiece of their menu, was as spectacular as ever. Slow-roasted to perfection, it was succulent, tender, and richly flavored, just as I remembered from my LA visits. Each slice was expertly carved at the table, a testament to Lawry’s commitment to service and quality. The meat’s impeccable seasoning and juiciness made it clear why Lawry’s has earned its reputation.
But Lawry’s mastery extends beyond their signature prime rib. The side dishes were not merely accompaniments but stars in their own right. The creamed spinach was velvety and flavorful, a creamy concoction that perfectly complemented the richness of the meat. The Yorkshire pudding, airy and golden, was the ideal vehicle for savoring the exquisite jus that accompanied the prime rib. Moreover, the mashed potatoes were a smooth, buttery delight that melted in my mouth, making each bite a comforting yet luxurious experience.
