Great Chinese food in a more comfortable environment than usual. The dim sum is quite good. Entrees are also excellent. We had a lot of food so I can't list it all, but it was so good we went back just a few days later.
The peking duck was excellent. Even the ground duck with lettuce leaves was good and proper. The dim sum had great flavor and texture. The presentation is also quite nice.
The ambiance is good. Nice decor that absorbs some of the noise of a regular Chinese restaurant. It's artistically done and comfortable at the same time.
One of the private rooms had a rather short ceiling in the entry way and around the edges. If you have a special guest who may be 6'5" (195cm) or above, make sure you don't get that room. At 6'3.5" I was feeling leery of scraping my head on the ceiling. However, it's a great way to make clear to the tall one that he's the foreigner and needs to be careful. As far as I saw, this is only an issue for those entering from the parking lot entrance and using the room near by.

Made a reservation in advance for lunch on a Sunday afternoon at 1 pm and the reservation was confirmed for 10 pax.
Reached the location at 12.30 pm and didn’t get our table until 1.45 pm. From 1pm we had been asking the servers for our table and we just kept getting ping-ponged around.
Little did we know, one server showed us the reservation book where our name had been erased by another server but she forgot to erase our phone number and time of reservation LOL
Apparently there is one lady in Maystar that takes reservations from people and she’ll just hand your table to other customers that walk in (probably because she gets $$ under the table from them). We were not the first customer to face this. And guess what! She was the only server without a name tag! HAHA Coward much!

Iseng cari di Google Maps, menemukan May Star Signature di Sari Pacific. Lokasinya agak ngumpet di sayap kiri hotel. Dari pintu masuk hotel tidak terlihat, bahkan tidak ada papan petunjuk menuju May Star Signature.
Berbeda dengan May Star lainnya, May Star Signature memiliki warna khas yaitu biru.
Menu May Star Signature tipikal May Star pada umumnya, ada beberapa yang tergolong premium. Dim sum juga tersedia.
Berhubung beberapa menu rasanya sama seperti di May Star pada umumnya, maka review berikut fokus terhadap menu yang belum pernah dipesan sebelumnya.
Cha Siu Sou Panggang (9.5/10) Pesan menu ini atas rekomendasi dari pelayan. Ternyata menu Cha Siu Sou Panggang benar-benar layak untuk direkomendasikan. Pastrynya renyah dan tebal. Hati-hati saat makan karena termasuk tipe yang mudah hancur. Isian sama seperti pada menu Cha Siew Pau. Porsi isi cukup banyak.
Lin Yong Pau Tim (9/10) Ada beberapa menu Bakpao di May Star yang mengusung konsep bentuk lucu atau unik, salah satunya adalah Lin Yong Pau Tim. Bakpao yang tampil dalam bentuk yang menggemaskan ini ternyata isinya lotus! Jarang-jarang ada bakpao isi lotus. Isian kurang lebih sama seperti lotus yang jamak ditemukan pada menu Onde-Onde Cintul. Tekstur filling padat dan cenderung manis.
Xiao Long Pao (9/10) Walaupun bukan spesialisasi May Star, Xiao Long Pao versi May Star termasuk enak. Kulitnya kenyal. Kuahnya terasa lembut dengan sensasi hangat jahe. Isian juga cukup banyak. AC disetel cukup dingin, maka Xiao Long Pao cepat dingin.
Hakau dengan Minyak Truffle (9/10) Hakau tampil dengan penampilan yang premium, yaitu kulit berwarna hitam (menggunakan charcoal) dan diberi emas. Tapi warna hitam tidak memberikan kontribusi terhadap rasa hakau. Rasa charcoal tidak terlalu terasa di lidah. Ada perbedaan yang cukup kentara dalam hal isi hakau. Isi berupa adonan udang yang sudah dihaluskan ditambah cincangan wortel. Rasa isi tidak sekadar udang saja, ada manis dari wortel. Ketika tiba di meja, wangi nikmat minyak truffle menyeruak. Sayang sekali, ketika akhirnya hakau dimakan, wangi minyak truffle sama sekali tidak terasa di lidah.
Pau Telur Asin Manis (9/10) Pau tampil dengan penampilan yang premium, yaitu kulit berwarna hitam (menggunakan charcoal) dan diberi emas. Tapi warna hitam tidak memberikan kontribusi terhadap rasa pau. Rasa charcoal tidak terlalu terasa di lidah. Isi berupa custard dan telur asin. Rasanya jelas gabungan antara asin dan manis, dengan karakter rasa yang lembut.
Sah-sah saja bila May Star mencoba menggunakan minyak truffle agar menu tampil premium. Hanya saja resep perlu ditingkatkan lagi agar minyak truffle benar-benar terasa di lidah.
