This place needs to be renovated asap. Decor and facilities like table and chair and even the decor is while pretty nice is really really showing its age.
We order private room because it's my wife's bday, but the aircon is pretty hot. Actually the temp for all of this place is more like 26 or 27 degrees. Its not really hot but definitely not cold enough to be comfortable.
Food is actually tasted really good and they have a quite good selection of Japanese buffett. The chawan musi, chicken teriyaki, and sukiyaki deserves special mention. Their salmon sashimi is also good. Ice cream selection while not much but their matcha and chocolate is really good. The tepanyaki grill is also great with jumbo shrimps available to be grilled.
So why only 3 stars? Well well well... When I contacted this place to order a private room, they never tell me there is a 350K surcharge. They just bill me 350K extra for using the room at the end of our meals.. Hmmm..
We were 9 people eating and spent 500K per person and they still charge 350K for private room with hot aircon and very old table with a lot of scuff marks, and very old chairs.. I don't think the 350K is justified by any means. I don't mind paying the 350K but they never tell me from the beginning and with that kind of facility its definitely not worth it.
So the food is 4.5 stars, service is 2 stars, facilities is 2 stars. On average 2.8 stars, rounded up to 3 stars
Hopefully after renovation this place can be a great place...
Read moreI rarely give 2 stars but hear me out. The place is like ring 1 Jakarta right? Downtown at the side of tol-like Thamrin road. So you expect kind of like they would have a good parking space for all people. But they do not provide paid parking space for motorcycle and we were told to just park at the side of the road and were not expected to dine in. Discrimination is a big turn down you know at this age and so turn down no.1. So we tried to find a decent parking elsewhere and ended up parking at djakarta theater parking lot.
The place was immaculate and clean, I give you that. Waiters are super helpful and nice too. We went there to specifically taste the famous classic black forest and blueberry cheesecake that people talk about. I was expecting a chocolate cake with black cherry drenched in jamaican rhum but it taste more like they are using cherry liquor that taste is too artificial. In short, it's not my taste. The cheesecake, it was cakey and too bland for me. I did not finish it at all and prefer the one from next door coffee shop (strbc*s). Turn down no. 2
For me compared to the price, it was not worth it. Turn down no. 3. I did not taste anything else there, so this comment is strictly limited to what I tasted, my preference, and my whole...
Read moreThe most favourite Japanese restaurant I have ever experienced so far in Indonesia. The salmon and tuna are soooo soft and fresh. The fish here is the softest I have ever tasted. The zaru soba is served at its best and been the best so far among any other restaurant (you guys better don't eliminate this from the lunch buffet, it's Jakarta, we need somethinh cold and fresh our mind. The sorbet ice cream is well made and served too, not too sweet and fresh. Sukiyaki is perfect. Cawan mushi and the cakes and list still goes on. The provide lobster too! Been inviting friends to eat here for the past few years already and none of them...
