Overpriced food (even for Menteng prices) and terrible service, although not at the fault of the workers themselves. We waited 15 minutes at a table for anyone to hand us a menu, got fed up and asked for one, and was told to take one myself. The waiters were completely unenthusiastic about serving us the whole way through. When I asked for the bill, the waiter I flagged was walking towards me when someone else called for him, at which point he completely ignored us to serve the other table's needs, which was completely ridiculous. When I saw my bill I realized why: this place only has a 5% service charge! No wonder the workers don't care! I understand it's crazy for a customer to complain about being charged less, but every other restaurant charges a 10-20% SC and for good reason. A high-end place like this paying their employees peanuts is not only a morally bankrupt thing to do, it reflects very evidently in the customer experience. More to that point, the night I went there were only 3 front staff serving about 50 people, which is far, far too little (although that night there were major ongoing protests, which likely caused issues for staffing). Regardless, I completely lay the blame on what must be awful management for letting this happen, and if the restaurant management is reading this: PAY YOUR WORKERS MORE! PEOPLE WORK BETTER WHEN THEY DON'T NEED TO STRUGGLE TO MAKE ENDS MEET!
The prices were also fairly egregious even for a place in Menteng. The full mains, like chicken and fish being around 100-150k, is fine and expected. The normal-sized plate of Mie Goreng costing 77k and a plate of risoles costing 60k is not. Otherwise the food and drink were fine....
Read morei have mixed feelings about this place. this place is located strategically near the sarinah area. this place opens until late, a good option if you're looking for a restaurant instead of a bar or night club. the sofa is also comfortable. the music is mostly good. they play the music through their speakers.
the food is mostly nice. you don't need to wait for too long. for nasi gila, the dish is tasty and savory, but the rice is a little too dry. for kungpao chicken, the rice is perfect, and the chicken is crispy with sweet and sour sauce.
the waiters are different. some of them are helpful and nice. but some others, mostly male, are not so helpful. i kept calling them for help and they just had a chat with other waiters. i tried to raise my voice calling them but seemed like they didn't hear. i wasn't comfortable raising my voice too loud because it would sound rude. they should look out the customer rather than spending their time having conversation with...
Read moreIt s cool. I Like the concept, the variety of food and beverages offered, The friendly staff. However i was a bit disappointed - with whoever grilled my steak. I specifically requested for a medium and yet i got a well done..more like overcooked a little xD. *Im a meat lover so yeah sorry i pay attention to little details. warewolf calling for a bit of flesh :p. HOWEVER... MY COMPLIMENT TO THE CHEFF (Mr. Sento) who kindly made nasi goreng. It was sooo tasty (my husband order this one). It suits and pleased every taste buds my tounge has. It feeds my hungry soul Ps: i like my mashed potatoes tho... and the portion was (for me) = huge. I could last a day without eating anything...
