A few months ago, I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the first time, to celebrate one of my dear friend’s birthdays. What I remember most from that visit was not the food, surprisingly enough, but rather the view—the view of the city was absolutely stunning. Truly, that was the one detail that stuck with me. As for the food, well, my memory of it is a bit hazy, but I do recall thinking it was good. Just good. Nothing too extravagant or over the top, but good enough. It didn't leave me reeling with excitement, nor did it leave me thinking about it long afterward. Just a solid meal with a great view, really.
Fast forward to yesterday, and I returned to the very same restaurant, this time with my family in tow. Now, I wasn’t walking in with sky-high expectations. In fact, I would say I was fairly neutral, perhaps even a little skeptical. We ordered Set A, which—let me tell you—includes practically everything on the menu, or at least it felt that way.
And oh my goodness, where do I even start with this meal? The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every. Single. Dish. From the fish, to the duck, to the crab, to the shrimp—everything was just beyond words. It was so good that I honestly couldn’t comprehend why every bite tasted as amazing as it did. It’s as if every dish was crafted with the utmost care and precision. I’m not trying to be dramatic here, but quite literally everything on the menu was bursting with flavor. Each dish seemed to outdo the last. But let me single out the fried shrimp for a moment, because wow—just wow. That fried shrimp? It was nothing short of transcendent. Out of this world. I’m not even exaggerating when I say it might just be the best fried shrimp I’ve ever tasted in my life. I couldn’t help but think to myself, "How did I not realize how incredible this place is?" Even the pudding—something I had no particular expectations for—was so delightful, I was genuinely surprised.
And let me tell you, the experience didn’t stop there. I took some of the leftovers home, and when I reheated them the next day, they were still fresh, still flavorful, still delicious. You know a restaurant is good when even the leftovers taste like they were freshly made.
I honestly can’t lie—this restaurant has now firmly secured its place in the top three restaurants I’ve ever had the privilege of dining at. It’s that good. The food was just so mouthwateringly delicious that I can’t stop thinking about it.
Now, if I had to offer a critique, and I’m really nitpicking here, it would be regarding the private room we used. Two small things stood out to me: first, the door was, unfortunately, a bit squeaky, which was slightly annoying; and second, the room wasn’t as quiet as I had hoped—it wasn’t completely soundproof, so some outside noise trickled in. But again, these are incredibly minor details in the grand scheme of things.
Honestly, none of that took away from the overall experience. The food and the ambiance were just so stellar that those little inconveniences faded into the background. Truly, this restaurant is top-notch in every sense...
Read moreA great seafood restaurant to bring your friends or family. Located in the heart of central jakarta and offers a nice view of the city lights from surrounding sky scrapers.
LOCATION Located in the east parking lot of GBK makes Sentosa Senayan very easy to find. There are a lot of parking space but it is recommended to park on the parking building as the restaurant is literally on the rooftop
The place has a lot of seating space in a semi-outdoor setting. We really recommend to seat close to the “window” so you’ll be able to get the city lights view. Reservations are highly recommended as it can be a bit busy on dinner time.
FOOD Overall the food was satisfying with generous portions and good taste. Here are my detailed thoughts on the food.
Udang Goremg Sentosa: a must order if you dont have any allergies. The shrimp are deep fried so the skin is crispy enough to be eaten with ease but still maintain juiciness on the inside. The best part is the head where it still has its juice that is a flavor bomb. It served with a dry seasoning that is sweet and spicy with a little bit of saltiness. The fried garlic also brings up the texture game
Kepiting Soka Telur Asin: a soft shell crab deep fried in a batter resulting in a crispy outer layer and keeps the meat inside tender and juicy creates a texture delight. The salted egg seasoning coated the crab evenly and the salty flavour is not that intense, you’ll find a hint of sweetness in every bite. Love this!
Ayam Kung Pao Yam Basket: A typical chinese Kung Pao chicken. A combination of sweet and sour with a hint of spicy from the pepper corn will please your palette. The chicken is not covered with flour, but it is tender which is very positive. The main star of this dishes is actually the “Basket” made out of Yam (talas) which taste umami with little sweetness.
For the drinks i have no complaints. For your information, the ice tea is free refill.
The food were great and i think the price is very reasonable.
THE SERVICE The service was great. The servers response quickly to our needs. Our food arrived approximately 15 minutes so we don’t have to wait for long. One thing that might have to be improved is the attention to detail as one of the servers brought me...
