I visited Sohre Coffee as recommended by my friend and I have to say, it was more than just a coffee stop- it was an experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt the passion for coffee that really set this place apart. They serve specialty brews, it’s the way they let you enjoy each sip that truly enhances the experience. The barista introduced me to this fascinating idea of cross-modal perception, where our senses work together. He served my manual brew coffee in two different types of cups; a classic ceramic cup and a sleek glass resembling a wine glass. It was interesting to learn that the cup materials can change how the coffee tastes and smells. If you prefer something rich and bold, you’d go for the ceramic, while I choose the glass to savor the clean and neutral notes. I decided to try their Indonesia beans with strawberry notes. The strawberry flavor popped beautifully and I could also catch some refreshing fruity undertones, it had such clean finish and as I sipped I noticed a nice citric acidity that kicked in in combination with delightful syrupy caramel hints. I loved how they took time to guide through the tasting process, making it feel personalized...
Read moreSohre serves really good coffee!!! It seemed like most cafes in Jakarta serves only arabica dark roast beans but Sohre had delicious fruity beans (Colombia washed x Brazil natural) which is more of my palette. The gochujang pasta was delicious too but the best was their gluten-free brownie and the panna cotta dessert that they give for free in the mornings (what a delight)! The tamago sando and miso butter pasta were pretty good too. But the miso soup was pretty bizarre for my friends and I (it smelled and tasted sour so I wouldn’t recommend that) but otherwise I enjoy their food and coffee there. :D
I ordered from Sohre several times 😂 for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Grab during my stay in Jakarta and it was their coffee that truly kept me sane during my busy work trip. Wew! Thanks Gabriel for being so nice too.
My recommendations: iced latte (fruity beans) ✅ hot latte (fruity beans) ✅ creamy gochujang pasta ✅ gluten-free brownie ✅ coconut panna cotta...
Read moreCame here sunday 2PM, some crowds inside but still gets seat. Located in Benhil, a bit hidden inside the roads but accessible by car & bike (limited parking spot). Serves coffee and its mix along with non coffee, light bites, and some rice bowl & pasta. Price is quite fair, they also likely sell assorted coffee beans.
I had their toast and sohre latte (palm sugar coffee). The toast is very tasty, the scrambled eggs with spicy mayo are soft but flavorful as a bite. The sohre latte is okay, nothing special but not bad as well.
The interior is homey with grey - brown dominated color, all indoor seats that can seat about 20ish people, electric plugs are abundant, aircon is breezing across all seats, wifi is strong, place is clean and the baristas are friendly.
Overall will return here when...
