I think that sushi tei doesnt really have anything that is extraordinarily good, but this is a comfort restaurant if you are craving affordable good enough japanese food.
I had their gyu yanagawa which basically is just beef and egg stir fried together in a hotpot. Honestly nothing special, in the menu they said to have lotus root but I didnt find any.
Their sushi were also just meh. Salmon belly soup was my moms favorite. And the udon, the bowl was sooo big but the portion was quite small compared to their bowl.
Overall everything is just okay for me. But surely this is a safe japanese restaurant to eat in.
Another visit and I tried another menu, which is quite interesting. Their beef teriyaki roll is surprisingly not bad, beef is juicy. They use Japanese omelette, fish floss, fish roe and spicy mayo. Mayo isnt spicy as expected. Fish floss could be better. But overall its ok
Gekkikara salmon roll, this is their sushi roll with fish floss, cucumber, topped with salmon and spicy sauce. The spicy sauce wasnt playing, like its sooo spicy but super tasty at the same time. The fish floss was a bit menye like, you know like that abon that has been kept in a wrong container it started to...be not crunchy? Hahahah but love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs time goes by, to be frank, Sushi Tei has become your run of the mill Japanese restaurant. Although the food quality seems to be generic these days but they have maintained their standards. Glad they have seasonal menu to overcome it. The ocha's so bland that you hardly could distinguished it with green coloured plain water. I thought with them charging 5k for each glass at least they were improving but that was not the case. Their branches are among the kid-family friendly japanese restaurants. Most have spacious venue and good queue system. The staffs are always friendly and quick on their feet. For this particular joint I have to pinpoint on their placement of ceiling lamp and exceptionaly small table for 4. The tables on the back of the restaurant are not fit for 4 and the ceiling lamp cast shadow large enough to fill the center of the table. It really bother to take good picture of the food and it is not fun to eat with shadow looming on your front vision. The decor, furniture and kitchen looks outdated and shabby. Despite all the disadvantages I would still come back from time to time to look for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Sushi Tei violates HACCP in the worst and most violating way possible. It was 20:50, within mall operational hours, and right next to the cardboard wall Sushi Tei is doing renovating work, drilling a hole right at the ceiling vent, resulting in dust falling off right on to us and our dining tables. The smell of fresh paint, construction vibrations and noises are well present throughout the venue not only disturbing the present customers but also jeopardizing our health, cleanliness and well being of the foods and drinks consumed by us as well as other present customers. All photographed evidence is attached to this review. This is a serious violation of HACCP codes. Serious repercussions need to be done to this...
