Kiki Homestay — Hotel in Kuta Selatan

Before I went to Bali, I talked to someone who recommended me this home stay, this person told me it had no luxury at all and that I should stay in a private room because the shared rooms are much worse so I didn't expect much, of course. But when I got there I was surprised in a bad way. There was a single bed, an old fan and a toilet. The room seemed clean but the bathroom not as much. I understand it is a simple home stay but I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it. The price is ok and so is the location but there is no comfort in the room, only cold water in the shower, there was no sink in the bathroom and every time I took a shower, the whole bathroom got wet as there was nothing around the shower. People saw me, said hi, gave me the key and that's it... no ceremony at all, no documents, no signature... I left the room and nobody saw me. As I realized later, that's the "Indonesian way" to deal with things but I would say that they are not much prepared to receive...

This homestay is managed by the Portuguese lady. She is very lovely and sweet. We had late checked in and she was super friendly showing us the room. Her Philosophy is that we are all family here. The vibes r pretty good here too. Place is clean. New rooms have AC and old rooms have only Fan. Also the homestay is located so close to the Single Fin and Padang Padang beach. Perfect location!!! |Oh, Old rooms (don't know about new) have no hot water... So if u wanna take shower it's gonna be nice cool ONE))) the homestay provide u with towels and toilet paper... I would suggest you to have your own shampoo and soup 😉 The place have parking for bikes (enough space) and a bit space maybe for 2-3 cars ))) |It's quiet. It's totaly worth the money u pay for it. This place is in a good location, & the staff are sweet and wonderful. However, the room had no windows and was so hot and stuffy we couldn’t sleep. They did provide an extra fan, but it did not help much. There was a lot of tossing and turning, so the sheets came off a bit to reveal a very dirty mattress. I tried to take a cold shower in the middle of the night to cool off, but the water was turned off. We opened the door & were swarmed with mosquitos. In the morning, a lake was rising from the drain in our bathroom. So much so that we couldn’t use the toilet without getting our feet wet.
