69 Bar and Resto — Restaurant in Kuta

Definitely the worst dining experience I've had in Bali. I came with a girl, she ordered pasta, I ordered chicken with rice. Her pasta came, 10 minutes later I called the waitress over to see where my chicken was, I was starving. She apologised and said the chicken is made fresh so takes longer. I wanted to ask her why the F the pasta was brought out if the chicken takes longer but you know, on a date so I kept my cool. Maybe 20 minutes later the chicken came. Obviously the pasta was cold by this point. We ate, it was below average and well overpriced. 1 beer, 1 soft drink & 2 meals came to around 400k ($40 AUD). I've spent many years working as a server so I always sympathise with the waitresses. It's not easy when you're dealing with a shocking chef who can't even get the timings right on a table for 2. But my advice to said waitresses, if the chef gives you 1 dish for a table and tells you the other one is over 20 minutes away. Throw the first dish back at him and tell him to serve it with the 2nd dish like a normal person. If the chef needs my advice on this, then the guy simply has no business working in a kitchen. Sorry if that's harsh but it is what it is. Terrible service. Below average and over priced food. Every other experience I've had in Bali has been great. This is the only bad place that I have eaten. Sitting here still an hour after ordering waiting for chicken steak to arrive. Doesn’t look that busy compared to the number of servers working. The food tastes pretty good when you finally receive it. But not sure if I’m supposed to raise my hand for another beverage or what the custom is to get another drink. If you have time to wait then it’s a decent place I suppose. If you’re already hungry then I suggest going somewhere else to get food quicker. Update: finally received the chicken steak in a takeout box 90 minutes after ordering. We were told it took so long because of Nyepi day happening tomorrow so they are supposedly one of the only restaurants open. But every restaurant we passed walking back to our hotel was open. So I’m not sure how well that excuse sits with me. Looking at the other reviews it seems great but we personally had a bad experience. The best food and service I’ve experienced so far!

I booked a Romantic Dinner set-up through their website and everything went so smoothly. They were very accommodating and helpful with all my queries from the start.

I have nothing but nice words to say with the execution. I chose the garden venue and the decoration was a very beautiful balinese inspired theme. The food served were all delicious and appetizing. The staff assigned to serve us was Indri. She was very nice and helpful. Her delightful attitude helped us to feel welcome and at ease.

All in all, it was really a great experience! We highly recommend 69 Resto Bar if you’re planning to do an intimate dinner with your significant other.
