Had a bad experience with the service here, It happened just today, 13 August 2025! went here to see my friends at 6.30pm ish which it’s already passed sunset and the sky went darker (not a lot of people) We sat on the bean bags, we are 4 people and the 3 of them were there already. As soon as I arrive, I wonder why this one staff, I forgot to ask for his name but he seems like the supervisor or someone who looks kinda important among every staff there. He came up to us and asked in Indonesian “Jadi berapa orang?” “Berapa orang nih?” Meaning “so, how many people is coming?” “How many people is going to be here?” If he asked with a good tone it’ll be all fine for me, but he asked like he asking for a fight lol. Chillax man, it’s not that you have any minimum spend at the restaurant 🥱
He kept being rude, yes we (me and my friends) are locals but it doesn’t mean that you need to be mean to us. We chose your restaurant and we spent our money to come and eat, not to be treated like shit.
2 of us went home and this staff ask me and my friend to move, but how he said it like “silahkan pindah!” Which means “go move!” And we just got the menu, it’s so obvious that I’m still looking and reading the menu as we want to order for more, he went to our table without us called him, it’s good if he has the initiative but he asked us again with the rude tone and it sounds like rushing us “jadi, sudah mau pesan?!” Which means “so, do you want to order?!”
At this time I was losing my patience, so I was being sarcastic. “Kok rasanya harus cepet cepet gitu ya pesen nya?” Meaning “why does it feel like it needs to be hurry to order something?” Instead of him saying sorry, he tried to defend himself “makanya saya tanya, sudah mau pesan?” Meaning, “that’s why I asked, do you want to order?”
It’s just rude, the tone, how he speaks. Definitely not a good attitude to serve a customer.
A lot of the staff also were not paying attention to us, I saw many of them are free but so many times we called them, raised our hands to just ask for a menu or order, they weren’t available, didn’t see us, or hear us. I guess it’s better if one or two staff stand by at the beanbags area. At least the other staff are good and friendly, not that one guy. I hope you guys can do better in briefing this to him,
Thank...

Speaking of the food and drinks, we were truly spoiled at Chiringuito. The menu offered an extensive selection of both local and international dishes. Each dish was prepared with care, and the flavors were simply delightful. Compliments to the masterchef. The drinks were also refreshing and perfectly complemented the evening.

Read moreEverything about this restaurant is amazing — from the food and the shisha to the stunning sunset views — except the service.
We’re regular visitors to Bali and always try to be understanding when it comes to language or cultural differences, as we know the language barrier goes both ways. However, the service at this restaurant was so poor that it went far beyond anything that could be excused by miscommunication.
Upon arriving, the first thing we were met with was a staff member bluntly saying, “Minimum spend is 100k,” with no greeting or welcome. We tried to brush this off as a cultural or language-related misunderstanding.
After dinner, we wanted to relax, enjoy the sunset, and order some shisha. We fully acknowledge there was some back-and-forth miscommunication while we tried to change tables to move closer to the beach.
Eventually, we found a lounge area we liked and asked to be seated there. At that point, another staff member abruptly said, “Minimum spend is 300k, excluding shisha!” — again, with no courtesy or hospitality.
Mind you, by this time we had already spent over 600k on food and drinks alone — not including the shisha.
It got to a point where my husband had to raise his voice and say, “I don’t care about the minimum spend — I want to sit here, take all my money!”
We are the kind of couple who dines at both high-end restaurants and humble street-side warungs across Bali. But this repeated, cold behaviour made us pause and observe how other guests were being treated. We noticed that other patrons — particularly those with lighter skin — were not immediately met with the “minimum spend” warning like we were.
This left us questioning: were we treated this way because of our...
