Foodie’s Story — Restaurant in Kuta

Where do I start! If you can get past the raw sewerage smell and make your way to a seat! But don’t worry that sewerage smell will greet almost every breath you take! Then you have all the drunk bogans all belligerent exiting the party busses making a mess of themselves to add to the atmosphere! Let’s get onto ordering As if the previous red flags weren’t enough 5 of my choices for a main where not available including there entire “foodie’s signature” section 🤷 So we finally lock in a meal choice only for 2 other tables that ordered after us to receive there drinks before we had to remind staff that we haven’t received our drinks yet and even then had to remind them of multiple they forgot to bring on there first attempts (2 of the drinks were cokes) Still waiting for our food we watch as tables that ordered after us start to receive there food 🤬 Safe to say if I could give a lower score than 1 star for service I would! Now after a extended wait we finally got 2 of the 5 meals 1 open sour dough with chicken original choice was pork but of coarse they didn’t have it and you guessed it the chicken was still frozen and I received my maybe 1/3rd of the 200gram steak more like a sizzle steak but alas it didn’t come with any of the vegetables described just a few bits of cold carrot and cauliflower and a white mushroom sauce! No potato , no sautéed vegetables and no beef jus essentially less then half my meal came! Our 2 kids wanted satay chicken meals however they of coarse didn’t have stock so we ordered them nasi goreing only for them to arrive after a 50 minute wait with satay chicken on them 🥴 Kids didn’t finish there meals as they where extremely Spicey 🔥 our kids can handle spice but this was way to much. At the 1 hour mark we finally received my wife’s ravioli spinach and the feedback was “at least it’s warm but very tasteless” Overall this is by a long long shot by far the worst experience I have ever had in Bali and could quite possibly be one of the worst dining experience we have ever had the displeasure of experiencing In the end they attempted redemption with a free dessert that was passable and did remove both nasi goreng from the bill after us refusing to pay for it! Foodie Story, a cozy place which serves delicious food. Very nice… The staff are super friendly. Lead by a great manager (Moreno) who is entertaining and together with the hospitality and attention given to us. Moreno was going to make sure ensure we were not going to die of hunger or thirst certainly, substantiated a 5 star rating. Located towards Kuta and open 24 hours, with different live music each night, which is not to loud and very relaxing, with the pick being Kevin from Indonesian Idol. A big group of my friends and I were staying in a resort behind this restaurant, and it is some of the best food we had in Bali! Excellent and beautiful staff, the owner makes friends with everyone and is so fun and welcoming, cheap meals/drinks and live music most nights. We came here most nights whilst we were in Bali.
