We arrived at Denpasar Airport hungry and in high spirits. My partner and I were genuinely impressed by how beautiful, modern, and convenient the airport was—far more advanced than what we’re used to in the Philippines. We were especially amazed that the restaurants inside are open 24/7, which added to the overall convenience.
The things and food were overpriced, but considering the luxury and comfort of the airport, we thought it was just fair.
After wandering around and checking the food options, we decided to go for Made's Warung, thinking that for the last time, we should enjoy one last authentic Balinese meal before heading home. We ordered Ayam Betutu, Mie Goreng, and a hot chocolate drink. The food was delicious, and the staff were warm and attentive, even checking in on us as we eat our meal. Of course, we happily said the food was great.
However, we were surprised we couldn’t finish our meals. We felt full too quickly. Whether it was due to the deep/savory taste of the food or something else, we weren’t sure at the time.
But then things took a turn. THE WHOLE RIDE BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES, MY PARTNER AND I FELT SICK.
My partner felt nauseous and was close to barfing, while I suffered from severe bloating and cramps on the left side of my stomach. I was burping nonstop and felt extremely gassy (which was super questionable since I haven't experienced anything like it). We felt super sick even until we landed and days after our trip. We also had diarrhea for days. Thankfully, it got better with medication and we didn't need to go to the hospital.
This was a terrible way to end what had been a beautiful and carefully planned trip. Throughout our stay in Ubud, Canggu, and Seminyak, I had been very meticulous in choosing where we ate to avoid BALI BELLY. We even avoided tap water entirely. Never did we expect to get food poisoning at the airport, from a place that looked so luxurious, advanced that charged premium prices. It was so disappointing.
BETTER VIEW THE 1-STAR REVIEWS FIRST BEFORE EATING IN A RESTAURANT IN BALI. We now believe this restaurant should be investigated especially if others have had similar food poisoning experiences.
IT'S NOT WORTH IT. For such high prices (with added charges and taxes), food safety should be a given. The food safety at this restaurant is seriously questionable. Sure, the airport looked far better, and the dining options were also clearly better, but never in our lives have we experienced FOOD...
Read moreI’m writing to sincerely thank you for the exceptional service and care we experienced during our recent visit to your restaurant. We had come in to enjoy a meal with friends, and what could have been an unfortunate moment turned into a warm reminder of true hospitality, thanks to your wonderful team.
During our time there, my friend’s young son accidentally spilled his orange juice and broke the glass it came in. As any parent would know, moments like these can be a little stressful — but your team responded with such kindness and speed that we were truly touched. Without any fuss, your staff immediately helped us clean up, swiftly moved us to another table, and helped us with everything . This gesture might seem simple, but to us it was incredibly thoughtful and spoke volumes about your team’s attentiveness and genuine care for your guests.
It’s rare these days to come across such seamless service delivered with a smile, and we wanted to take the time to let you know how much we appreciated it. Your warmth, efficiency, and professionalism didn’t go unnoticed, and it made our entire experience at Made’s Warung even more memorable.
Thank you once again for going above and beyond. We will definitely be back on our next trip — and will be recommending your restaurant to anyone...
Read moreBali's Ngurah Rai International Airport has so few range of F&B choices that the best option for many years is Made's Warung.
The rest are either very expensive with questionable values or over the counter, still overpriced, light food, there is no medium range food which is not user friendly because even in International airport like Changi it has better price range for everyone.
Made's Warung serves proper meals and although the price is still on premium side, it's the best choice and reasonable for the food and location. Furthermore, I like the ambience especially now it had converted what used to be smoking lounge to seating corner with more privacy compared to outside.
It also has a screen that show departure which is very convenient for travelers. The staffs are also very friendly and they didn't have any problem at all when we lingered because our flights were still quite sometime away.
The place is clean, the food is good, service is good. Multiple visits over the years, and it's still the best option to have proper meal in...
