This was our last meal before we left for the airport, - having stayed here for a few days, we've only had their breakfast so far, so we thought it was only fitting that we ate here for dinner before flying off.
For our mains, we ordered the Mie Goreng, Fillet Mignon, De Volaille, and Sambal Matah. We also ordered the deep-fried soft shell crab as sides for sharing. Not long after our order was taken, we were brought complimentary pappadums, followed by very well-presented complimentary bites - fish with crackers, potato croquettes, and some chicken shreds on cucumber slices. I have to say the complimentary servings were decent, so much so that it sort of distracted us from how long it took the food to arrive. The place wasn't exactly packed, and there was a live band performing - under normal circumstances we would have been happy to wait for the food, but after waiting for a while we realised that we should have catered for more time for dinner.
The Mie Goreng was my pick, and rightly so, as it was one of the better Mie Goreng's I had throughout my stay in Bali this trip. The softness, taste, and wetness of the noodles was perfect, but for people who can't take spicy food, you might want to ask for a less/non spicy version.
The Fillet Mignon was ordered as medium rare, but it came more raw than we expected. I didn't mind too much, but one of my friends didn't like how raw it tasted. When feedback was given to the waiter, he was extremely apologetic about it and offered us complimentary desserts, but we turned it down. It really wasn't that bad.
The De Volaille was thick and didn't feel greasy at all. Even though it was deep fried and breaded, it actually didn't feel unhealthy at all. The fish was a little tough to me, but really fresh.
The only thing that was a disappointment to me was the soft shell crab. It didn't taste very fresh, nor was the breaded texture as crispy as it looked.
All in all, I'd say it's a decent restaurant, worth a try if you're...
Read moreThis place is seriously amazing. Right from the moment we walked in, our hostess was warm, welcoming and friendly, and made us feel comfortable and a little bit special. The open room with its large pillars, high ceiling and elegant decor is breathtaking, adding to the magic experience.
We were here as a family with two young teen kids. We came because of the reviews - especially of the Megibung - a multi-course gastric delight of Balinese cuisine. It did not disappoint. We all at least tried everything, and though some things were not to everyone’s tastes, it was all delicious and beautifully presented. All dishes were explained to us, and some were prepared and served at the table by one of the staff.
There was a duo of talented musicians who played several sets of jazzy covers on guitar, violin and vocals (with drum machine). Songs included Alberta, Imagine, Wonderful World, House of the Rising Sun etc. They were superb. We had to leave before they were done - I would have loved to stay to hear the rest of their performance but it was getting late for the kids.
We ordered Megibung for 4 people, and really appreciated our hostess recommending we should only get 3 and share between 4 because of the amount of food. Very thoughtful, thank you. The experience is at the high-end of cost for Bali, but worth every bit.
This was more than a meal - a real experience - and has definitely been a highlight of our...

Place : nice and cozy. Since the hotel room is not many, so the restaurant won’t be too crowded.
Drink : for me the juice is not too special, coffee.. mmm.. sorry I don’t really like their coffee, it just a standard coffee, nothing special.
Food : Almost all of the food in Sukun Restaurant is so good but my favourite menu in this restaurant are Dragon Magic and Egg Atlantic. This two are perfect meal for breakfast. Dragon magic is a smoothies with dragon fruit smoothies. Egg atlantic is perfect. Bread, avocado, egg is perfect combination. This meal is the most expensive meal and it deserve to be the most expensive meal. I would give 10/10 for those two.
Too bad, not many choices of halal food in the main course. They should add more halal meal in the main course.
Overall, this restaurant have a nice ambient and the meal was...
