I had the pork belly burger. It was far from transcendent.
The problem with food in Indonesia is the what-should-be-illegal amount of sugar they think everything should contain. Which is what was done to this burger; it was drowned in a cheesy, ketchupy, barbequey, and who-knows-what-else-y sweet/sour/salty sauce so that my palate tasted nothing other than a gross mixture of salt, sugar and fat, which overpowered any sense of taste the food would have otherwise contained. The same with the fries. They could have been tasty, but they were over-salted and over-spiced, and the sauce (i.e. ketchup) was the same, except that it was over-sugared. This is at best hyper-processed food.
Furthermore, because of all the sauce, the burger was difficult to eat, disintegrating into an unrecognizable mash of soggy bread and the aforementioned cheese + sauce + meat. It's best to eat this in a bathtub :-) It's even better not to eat it at all.
Anyway, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is wonderful and smiley and friendly, and it's a cool place to spend a half an hour. But I don't...
Read moreIntensely average. I felt misled by the other reviews left here. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad. Just really average and not worth all the hype. Had the pork and chicken burgers, as per review highlights, which were really more bun than meat. It’s like undressing for the first time and your partner going “is that all”.
The milkshake also was equally mediocre. A great milkshake is thiccc and textured, with deeper tastes beyond sugar. This one had plentiful biscuits as decoration. I’m learning that I shouldn’t trust decoration anymore. My sinful nutrition budget did not feel well spent.
It didn’t help that the neighbouring live music was blaring so loudly, while Waga Kiat’s own music played over their speaker system. The dissonance was not great.
If you’re looking for a burger that’s truly special, keep looking. If you’re looking for something adequate that won’t make you...
Read moreWe Just had dinner at the food truck. We ordered a beef burger, nachos and pork tacos. Nachos were ok, the burger was just bread and a huge onion ring because the patty was thinner as a paper sheet, taste was only ok. The pork tacos, worst choice ever! They were absolutely horrible, The pork was absolutely tasteless!!! The only thing that you could taste was a bit of spicy sauce that I supposed was used in the pork because not even the lettuce or tomato has taste. I needed to ask for salt. We ended up paying almost 500k for a dinner for 3 without alcohol. I will not return and advise to eat somewhere else, Just across the street are many places with better a better price-quality relation. Tax Is not include in menu Price! Worst meal in our whole trip of 2 weeks. Can't say anything about the local food, Maybe that one is better. Western...
