I arrived a bit too late, 9 pm, as some of their dishes had already sold out. However, I just wanted to try a few light dishes off the menu as I wasn't very hungry. So, I had green mango salad, which was a perfect portion for one person. The shredded mango was crisp and slightly sour combined with slices of baby tomatoes, carrot and peanuts with the juice of a lime. It's a while since I've had this salad in Thailand, but it tasted pretty authentic to me. To accompany it I had fresh rice paper spring rolls filled with raw salad & herb leaves and cooked prawns. Three of these came with a slightly sweet dipping sauce. Difficult to eat because the rice paper wraps are very gelatinous but the flavours from the fresh filling was delicious. To wash this down I had traditional Thai milk tea. I did want durian with sticky rice to complete my visit, but unfortunately the sticky rice was already finished. So I had fried bananas instead, which they very kindly made for me without batter, (celiac). The Warung is simple and basic, but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The most important thing though is the food and what I sampled tonight was more than acceptable and the prices are very reasonable. I...
Read moreArrived around 7 pm that night with my gf, expecting a decent meal for my first time there.
At that time there was only us ( 1 dine in table ) and a few grab online order
We were dissapointed by the owner services but still hoping for a decent food at least.
Ordered chicken red curry and tom yam soup since it is my favourite thai dish.
Shattered completely when I tasted both of them. Tbh we were not hoping for it to be great or delicious, just let it be decent please. All I can say it's one of the worst thai dish I ever have so far.
Chicken red curry was quite bland - unseasoned, tom yam soup on the other hand just a bit better since it was seasoned, but still can't found any authenthic flavor that we were looking for beside only the sweetness of the soup.
Overall even if the price was affordable but not worthed any cent spent if you are looking for an authenthic decent thai dish.
Really hope it can be...
Read moreMy wife loves Tom Yum and she’s been here once. Yesterday she was craving for some Tom Yum soup again, so she asked me to come here and have a lunch with her. The location isn’t that far and close to Seminyak.
The parking spot is not that big. Probably can only accommodate for 2 cars and several motorcycles. The restaurant itself is small to medium size but the inside don’t feel that cramp. However, since we came during the lunch time and we requested our food to be very spicy then the place felt really hot. We were soaking wet with our own sweats. Just wish the management could find a solution for the heat during the afternoon.
Food wise, the Tom Yum was great! I ordered a Tom Yum Fried Rice and it was delicious as well. All the food tasted awesome, I had no complain at all. I’m a fan now. Probably, I will come during the evening for...
