Bintang Beach Cafe Gili Meno — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

Located on the beautiful island of Gili Meno, there is a local café, run by an incredible couple named Jumaun and Sllu, has stolen my heart with their amazing mission to save baby turtles and release them into the ocean. I couldn't resist sharing my experience and urging everyone to support this noble cause.

The couple has taken it upon themselves to rescue baby turtles, providing them with a safe environment until they reach one year of age and can survive in the wild. To fund their efforts, they collect donations from visitors like us to build a larger container for the baby turtles, as they grow rapidly and require more space. These incredible people diligently clean and maintain the self-made container every day, ensuring the turtles have clean water and proper care.

I was deeply moved by their dedication and commitment to preserving these magnificent creatures.

The owners of this cafe are exploiting the sea turtles for personal gain. They will lie to you and say the are old enough to be released if you pay them to do so. Please know that if you do this you are paying to KILL a turtle as they are too young to be released. The owner pretends it is his dream to save the turtles but if this were true then they would give the turtles to the government approved sanctuary on the otherside of the island. There are way too many turtles in a small dark tank. They are not appropriately cleaned or looked after. Please DO NOT support this illegal...
