Friday was my first time eating at Da Mirco Osteria's! Its been on my on my list for months and it was totally worth the wait! I can't figure out how I never ate here before this weekend! Da Mirco Osteria's is another hidden gem in Cork City! From talking with the owner you can really see why the food here is authentically Italian! The proprietor selects a monthly menu of various dishes from various regions of Italy. This makes every trip different and unique! The staff and the proprietor are very friendly and attentive! They will explain each dish on the menu extensively sonyou will know exactluly what you are ordering! The food was delicious and it really felt like a homemade Italian meal. For starters I had the calamari and potatoes for a starter and my partner had the gnocchi and for the mains I had the Pork and my partner had the Braised Beef Cheek. All the dishes were amazing! I really mean that! The Pork was so delicious and the reduction it came with was amazing! Definitely the best Italian food I have had in Ireland and I didn't even have to leave my own door step We both chose the same desert whcih was their special on the night we were there. It was a chocolate hazel nut chilled moose and it really hit the spot after an amazing meal! They also served the table with a homemade Focaccia bread which was very fresh and delicious! We also had a shot of Limoncello to have after the meal! As for the price I would say it is more expensive than a normal iriah resturant however, this is not a normal dining experience and it is totally worth coming for a treat or special occasion! We will definitely be coming back to sample the unique monthly menu when we decide to have a nice evening out for a meal! If you are looking for Italian food then you must try this restaurant and I really love that it is...

Myself and my partner visited Da Mirco for a dinner just a week after our trip to Italy to revive our culinary experience there... and we were very much disappointed.

Good things: nice selection of wine, nice atmosphere, alright service.

Bad things: the experience food wise wasn't even close to the one of an authentic Italian restaurant, my partner's starter wasn't great - with a rubber like big piece of calamari and a token amount of other seafood, my starter was also at the same level, even a bit less, Ragu that was served as main I had was a joke, house made pasta is just not enough, my partner's main, which was seafood was way too salty, we even said that to the server but she simply disregarded the comment, inferior ingredients and those main dishes were "specials", the desert was a complete disaster: tiramisu we shared was not even set, with crunchy dry biscuits and no hint of coffee nor any alcohol in it, sprinkled with dark chocolate (I'd say Aldi take on this desert is closer to what it should be).

Priced at 120 quid the dinner was a bit more expensive to what you'd pay in a really nice restaurant in Rome and definitely not an authentic experience. It was so bad we had to just laugh about it.

We won't...

Firstly, thank you to Mirco and his team for a great experience.

My partner and myself went to Da Mirco on Friday evening for dinner. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The menu is relatively small but a nice variety on the menu. We went for the starter and main option, adding on foccacia and olives with the starters. Starters were delicious and so were the bread and olives, and everything was made using very good quality produce. For mains my partner had the lasagne and I had the venison which tasted great but was tough. When I mentioned this to the waitress she insisted on changing it or cooking me a new one, and keeping my partners food warm too so we could eat together, she could not have been nicer. The owner came over to apologise for this and again offered a new one or to change (I went for a new one and it was perfect). He also was very nice and the hospitality from himself and his team was very genuine. We did not go for dessert as we were too full but had a sweet wine which was delicious and reasonably priced, as were all the other wines we had.

Overall I would 100% reccommend Da Mirco as the food, wine and hospitality definitely justified the price. Thanks again Mirco, we will...

Me and my wife ate here today and had the Chefs Tasting Menu with wine pairings. While the service started off a bit slow, eventually things seemed to get into a better pace. The two servers working were very professional and friendly. The food itself was excellent. We had 4 courses plus a dessert. We also had focaccia made in-house with some great olive oil. All very fresh, high quality ingredients, made in-house, authentic Italian dishes that weren’t just pasta and pizza. The lamb ragu was a particular standout for both of us! Much of the food was sourced from the nearby English Market they informed us. The wine pairings were quite good; I particularly enjoyed the reds we were served along the two main courses (a lamb ragu pasta, and a pork chop with mushrooms). I’d definitely eat here again.

Dined there last night with my partner for our anniversary and was left extremely disappointed. We got calamari for starters and polenta mushrooms. The calamari was over cooked. It was like rubber and the membrane wasn’t removed which made it extremely hard to chew. The polenta was dry and flavourless that was sitting in a water like consistency. The mains were just as bad I got a beautiful cut of halibut that was ruined by being over cooked in a steamer with zero flavour and zero seasoning. My partner got a duck lasagne which was left there as he was unable to eat it due to it being so bad. We really looked forward to dining here and left so disappointed.
