Golden Bites Café — Restaurant in Cork

I’ve been to Golden Bites today, the new shop on Washington Street, with my young son. We were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and aesthetically nice. However, I do have some concerns.

When placing my order, I made it very clear that my cappuccino should be made with oat milk (for health reasons I cannot consume dairy). Unfortunately, I received a cappuccino with regular milk. I didn’t complain at the time because I’m not the type of person who likes to create conflict at an establishment, but I mentioned twice at the counter that it should be with oat milk.

Another point: I’m not sure if I was charged for two portions of grilled buttered bread since I received four slices, but I only ordered one portion, which I believe should be two slices. I also wasn’t given a receipt, so I couldn’t verify the charge.

Once again, the environment is very pleasant, and the staff was kind and attentive. However, we have already experienced issues with delivery orders in the past — missing items, wrong orders, etc. I expected that visiting in person would be different, but unfortunately, the same kind of issues happened. The food is crazy, small little deep-fried bites of cheese and meat or cheese and corn. Beautiful. Get a Guaraná as well to keep it traditional.

The Churros were honestly unexpected. Small little churros and they were filled with Nutella(Dark) or Dulce de leche.(Light). Sugar on the outside is misleading. It's not that sugary compared to Donut Shack and it doesn't taste like sugar sugar. Oozing churros are crazy!

Prices are good, really competitive with chippers but I only wish the whole thing could stay hot/experience it fresh out the fryer. They are small so they can't keep heat that well so you're better off eating inside or on the street but they do stay crispy.

Overrall, this has become a go-to spot for me for Brazilian street food. They have a bit of empty space around the place so I hope they make more Brazilian street food for...

I have a feeling that given the rave reviews I'm going to leave one, a little more moderate. Of course we agree that the proposed formula is original enough to be underlined and new.

The restaurant is clean with shimmering colors, it attracts the eye and considering the placement of the store it is a good thing that it can be seen from far.

The food is good without breaking the bank and rather filling, which is a good thing, the formula at 8€ is enough to calm a stomach at 16 hours I don't give it the maximum mark because I felt something quite hard to crack under the tooth...

I give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and I'll give it a second chance another time.
