Nando's Cork - Academy Street — Restaurant in Cork

UPDATE: Tried this Nando’s again on 8 December 2022, portions have gotten smaller, as shown in my pictures of the pygmy chicken breasts, it was freezing inside the whole time, the workers did not handle the food safely, we witnessed an employee carrying an armful of bottles of sauces/ dressings, with the caps off, breathing down into them, from upstairs, down through the restaurant, and there was various food and utensils on the floor under our table. I won’t be back here, and will probably never bother with any Nando’s again.

It was clean, pretty comfortable and pleasant inside, the table we sat at had some broken parts on the seating but there were enough places to sit at it that we could avoid the broken bits. The food was ok, no wow factor on any of it, nothing super impressive. We split the whole chicken, which came with either one large side or two regular sized sides, the regular sized sides are very small, so the meal was mostly chicken. For a whole chicken it was tiny, more like a small cornish hen. For €25+ it was quite expensive for what you got. We will probably never be back, the only good thing was the free refills on the soda but it was €3.70 or €3.90 for a drink so even that's...

I love Nando's and never miss the opportunity to indulge in their super tasty chicken whenever I get the opportunity. Sadly I was in the Cork Nando's and had a pretty lousy customer experience which is not typical with what I have experienced elsewhere. They messed up 3 of 5 of our orders even after being categorical about what we wanted. The Supervisor (David) was not the most apologetic. When they eventually replaced it they brought 2 and left out 1. When I went back to the counter to tell them that there was 1 more order outstanding, the Super supervisor blatantly told me that he had delivered everything. I literally had to drag him to our table so he could count the plates. When he eventually realized (not sure he did) he could not even have the decency to offer an apology.

Not all was lost though a lovely Rachel eventually saved our Nando's experience. She came over to the table and gave us the Nando's customer care we are usually accustomed to.

Want my advice? At Nando's in Cork...

Sorry to be late in putting this up, but on Monday 3 June 2019 I had a birthday party in Nando's in Cork and was totally blown away by the positive and helpful attitude of all the staff who served us.

They couldn't have done a better job - from the time we arrived and took our order, to the meal itself and to the very end when they sang happy birthday to me.

The ladies in my picture who serenaded me were just fantastic, and so were all the other staff. What an incredible team they all are and a huge credit to their company. Every single one of them deserves an award.

This was our first time at this particular branch and we had never met any of the staff before, but they treated us like we were their friends. Between them they ensured I had a wonderful birthday experience, one that I will treasure for a long time.

My family and I were on holiday from England and this was one of the great highlights of our time in Ireland. Thank you Cork Nandos. You are...
