Pros:- Once you're booked, Excellent food, drinks with friendly young staff, without exception. Good food value as well. Was very quiet when I arrived and took this shot. Recently I had the Lamb Shanks meal, total knockout of quality and size, green beans, carrots an a choice of mash or French fries with a delicious sauce, I made a point of talking to the Chef afterwards and complimented on the meal ,"this was not Pub grub, this was Gourmet restaurant quality" Cons:- Dearest drinks in the general are by far. Don't go here whether on your own or with company if you have not booked, you will be treated like "unwanted" and made feel that way, no real welcome or willingness to accommodate you. They only want big spender bills paid from groups of booked customers. The restaurant ideology of this establishment means you have to wait to be admitted and seated, not a place to walk in for a comfortable drink with a friend. Staff strictly follow the "presumably" management instructions on this policy. For example, on visiting for a drink with a colleague we could not be found a place to sit, all tables reserved despite loads and loads of empty tables. On persisting to be served just for a quiet pint we were given a table on condition we were finished in 40 minutes and depart. I took 3 stars off for this treatment. It used to be my favourite place but has now gone sour, I'll give it a miss in the future despite the excellent food and chef. Now 2 years later, I have not returned, a new recommendation Brady's of Shankill *****

Mixed feelings about our first visit to a pub in nearly 4 months. I was out of practice in pouring lager:) We booked via email with no issues, and prompt response. Check. We were shown to our socially distanced table. Check. Tables appeared to be cleaned between use. Check. Taking our order promptly and covered gluten options on burger competently. Check. Drinks arrival, a little slow, but it was busy, so okay. Food arrival, again a little slow, okay. The food. Burger had to be well done 'for food safety purposes, so a little over for my tastes, but okay. Fries - best part. Firm, not too thick and nicely cooked. Check Fish - a lot of it does not make up for its blandness. Not Great to be honest at €16. Desert. We both had Eton Mess. It took over 20 minutes to arrive, and only after I had to remind the waitress who did not write down orders. Not good. The meringue in the mess was clearly lowest quality from a powder mix. Extremely crunchy and lacking taste of anything. Fruits were frozen summer fruits like we use ourselves from Tesco. They definitely could try better. As for PPE and social distancing. None of the staff used any kind of PPE, even though they are leaning in over tables, cleaning tables (Not 100% cleaning of tables and chairs between customers). This I found very disturbing. There was a long table of c. 20 lads with staff leaning in and over them. How can the owner have their staff so exposed? Overall mixed feelings. Maybe we will go back as it's our 'local' maybe not.

The food here is delicious, I very much enjoyed my soup which was warm and filling. The atmosphere is quite amazing as well, we loved the stained windows and general feel of a great pub. The only drawback is that the service was quite slow, but it is understandable as they are understaffed at the moment (flyers with “staff wanted” posted on the building); however they were all very helpful and lovely.

Went there this evening and the food was excellent as usual. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the service tonight was terrible! We sat for half an hour and had to actually go and find someone to order food. The food took a further 20 minutes to arrive to the table which is totally understandable. After finishing our food and asking for some desert menus, they arrived some time later at the table for us to look at. It was easily another 15 minutes for a waiter to come back and assuming she was back to take our order she only arrived at the table to inform us she needed our table in the next 15 minutes. So we basically were at the table for an hour before food landed and because service was so slow we didn’t even have time for a desert. The place was busy and of course we have all these new covid19 rules to follow with timing etc but i would expect the service to be quicker to ensure your customers can have a full meal in your establishment without been told the table needed to be back without time for...
