Golden Elephant Chinese Takeaway — Local services in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

Ive been ordering Golden Elephant for over 20 years. While the food hits the spot in terms of being the an unhealthy treat - the current delivery driver is extremely rude and unpleasant.

Today, for the second time (at different addresses) he got out of his van and before saying anything else, he just started giving out that my order "didn't have a name on it".. which it clearly did. He didn't even apologies after I showed him the name. Then he walked over to the bushes outside my driveway, took a piss (at 5.20pm in daylight), got back in the van and sped off before I could ask him about the missing items from my order (chips).

I'm understanding that people can have a bad day - but the same driver was similarly rude to me when I ordered last time to my former address.

Won't be ordering Golden Elephant again...

Absolutely terrible service, restaurant rang me to complain about a small pot of sweet and sour sauce I'd asked for which usually comes complimentary with a portion of chicken balls in other places. So stingy even the chicken balls were tiny. That was enough for me to not order from them again but then my main meal arrived wrong. Szechuan is not supposed to be bright orange, I couldn't tell if they had simply given me a different sauce because frankly it was completely tasteless. Driver didn't adhere to contactless delivery so thanks for the COVID too. Maximum regret. Order from Yung's they are much better...

I always recommend this takeaway as it deserves it! Fast delivery, and delicious food... But the last time I ordered online I got a phone call from an extremely rude woman who angrily told me I needed to pay an extra 55 cents on my order. I told her that it was no problem, but I was left upset as I never expected to be treated like that. Especially as such a loyal customer!
