I have eaten in Cinnamon in Ranelagh and always been delighted with the food, comfort and service. This was my first visit to their monkstown Resturant in over 3 years and it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. The service was extremely slow and some of our servers were just plain uninterested . Despite many vacant tables we were left waiting and ignored in the doorway for over 5 mins. When we were shown to our table, we were again ignored for over 10 min. When the server arrived she was completely disengaged and didn’t write anything down. I asked for water for the table but got none. In the meantime a man had brought a shaggy and lively dog into the Resturant which immediately received attention from two different servers and and a bowl of water. There were no signs anywhere that it was a dog friendly Resturant. When a different ( more engaged) server arrived with the coffee and drinks I again asked for water and sugar. Eventually the water arrived. I had ordered the full breakfast which was fine but at €15 was overpriced. My daughter had ordered the pancakes which were €12 and delicious. My other daughter ordered a Ruben sandwich which was awful and she left 3/4 of it. The bill came to nearly €50 which I felt was way overpriced for the quality of the food and level of service we received. I won’t be back to this branch...
Read moreFood: avocado smash eggs were too small and avocado were overpowered by lemon (when of season it's common to use that to hidden bland taste ) The ham sharded sandwich was overpowering with sauce you can barely taste the meat its like sauce with hint of tares of meat. Coffee was served correctly not burned brew just in the right aroma Service: When we got in it said wait to be served. And when was reached by a waiters they were asked if were OK as like she's not aware of a sign say wait to be seated. After being reached by the next available waiter we needed to take ourselves the menu since no one gave us the option. When we asked what recommended he gave what mentioned above (food tab) that recommended both dishes. Was not ideal and based on someone who's working in the place and seeing what's popular ordered or what's in season can tell what recommended to serve. Atmosphere: Loud but enough to talk to each other. Atmosphere was very trendy and crowded.
In conclusion If service would been more pay attention for care for and aware on and food would been taking care based on right season and not overpowering but balanced flavours woykd definitely give this another go next time but if this will remain same method That's first and last visit we...
Read moreI came here with some friends on a girls night last Friday for dinner. We had no problem getting a table for the evening. It looked like there was plenty of availability. It seems like Cinnamon is possibly busier during the day than in the evening and I'm really not sure why!
The Atmosphere was really lovely and inviting. The right lighting, not too noisy, tables a reasonable distance apart so that you don't feel like you are sitting on someone else lap and great food! What more would you want from a Friday night dinner?
The staff were also really brilliant. I asked for some recommendations on my food and the advise was really good - I enjoyed everything I had (as well as some tasters of my friends starters and mains!). One of my friends didn't like her food (but didn't say anything about it as she felt that it was down to personal choice) and they removed the cost from our bill without being asked! We made sure to leave a good tip after that!
We also enjoyed the wine - there were a lot of different options as well as quite a lot of per glass options which isn't often available.
It has been quite a long time since my last visit as I don't live too close but hopefully it won't be quite as...
