We hosted a hen party here on Saturday for 21 ladies, and it could not have gone better! The team were incredibly accommodating – they allowed us to set up our own decorations and food, and were so helpful with everything from start to finish.

We had corkage on some bottles of prosecco for a welcome drink, and the staff went above and beyond making sure everyone’s glasses were always topped up, even when we moved up to the top deck. As we essentially ran an open bar with drink tokens for guests, it was great to see how respectful and honest the staff were – they made everything so easy for us and didn’t take advantage in any way.

Another lovely touch was being able to connect our phones via Bluetooth for music, which meant we could play our own playlist on deck and set the perfect atmosphere.

The whole experience was honestly the highlight of the day, and all of our guests had an absolute ball. Thank you so much to everyone at the Dublin Canal Boat Restaurant for helping us create such a memorable start to our hen...

We had the best time on the Canal Boat Restaurant! We booked it privately for a 3 hour trip for our friends Hen Party. 20 people joined us and we ordered canapes. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Honestly we were all talking about how lovely the crew were. They really went above & beyond to help us. They took photos, helped serve the wine we brought for hosting wine tasting (corkage was very reasonable), helped put up our decorations and made sure everyone was looked after (especially the bride to be). It also helped that it was a beautiful sunny day so we could spend time up on the deck. Thank you all so much for making it such a...

In one word: underwhelming.

The vibe is cool -- dinner on a boat! -- and the servers are all kind and professional. However, the food is bad value for money. For 57 euro, you get a 3-course meal without drinks. In any other restaurant, you'd expect top-of-the-line dishes. But here, it was ... plain.

To be more specific: -- starter of "smoked salmon tartare" was very basic in flavor; -- main of roast beef was plain, and although the portion was fair, more meat and less potatoes next time; -- cheesecake was lacking in Bailey's flavor (why?!).

Bottom line, unless someone else pays for your meal, I would advise against...

I was totally surprised at how good this experience was. The food was just outstanding as was the service staff. I did not expect such great food on such a small boat. The 2 hours went by very quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The boat goes through a tunnel and a lock and then back again. Make sure you go topside during the lock transit as it is very interesting. There was a crew of 8 who took very good care of all 18 passengers. Special thanks to Captain Dan, and all the rest of the crew.

I booked a 2h dinner for two with my girlfriend that was supposed to have started at 20:00 but we had to wait for another person that was late and we ended up leaving the Dock 20:40 the food was good but because of the delay we couldn't do the whole itinerary because the cruise had to be over by 22:00. The captain was nice and clear about the info he gave, the staff was ok. I feel that if we would have left at 20 it would be a different experience.
