I recently had the pleasure of enjoying what can only be described as the best New York style pizza I’ve ever tasted, right here in Dublin. Nestled in a bustling neighborhood, this pizzeria immediately stood out with its inviting atmosphere and the tantalizing aroma wafting from the kitchen.

Upon entering, the vibe was reminiscent of classic New York pizzerias—casual yet vibrant. The sounds of laughter and sizzling from the ovens created a warm, welcoming environment.

I opted for two slices: a classic cheese and a pepperoni. The first thing that struck me was the crust. It had that perfect balance of crispy on the outside yet chewy on the inside, embodying the quintessential New York style. Each bite was satisfyingly crunchy without being overly thick, and it held up beautifully under the toppings, avoiding that dreaded sogginess.

The cheese slice was a masterpiece in its simplicity. Generously topped with a rich, tangy tomato sauce, the mozzarella was perfectly melted and bubbly. It had that glorious stretch that any pizza lover craves. The sauce was vibrant and slightly sweet, with just the right amount of seasoning to elevate the cheese without overpowering it. The whole experience was enhanced by the fragrant notes of basil sprinkled on top, adding a fresh contrast to the rich flavors.

Then came the pepperoni slice. The addition of spicy, slightly crispy pepperoni elevated the experience to new heights. Each piece had a perfect curl, offering a delightful crunch that complemented the gooey cheese beneath. The spiciness of the pepperoni harmonized beautifully with the sauce, creating a savory explosion in every bite.

The overall balance of flavors was remarkable. The pizza was not overly greasy, a common pitfall in many renditions, allowing the fresh ingredients to shine through. Each slice was a perfect size—generous enough to satisfy without feeling overly heavy.

What truly made this pizza unforgettable, however, was the attention to detail. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, eager to share their passion for pizza, which added to the overall experience. I could tell they were committed to authenticity and quality, which made every bite feel special.

As I savored the last bites of my slices, I found myself reflecting on how rare it is to find such genuine New York style pizza outside of its namesake city. This pizzeria in Dublin has set a new standard for me, and I can confidently say that I will be returning for more. If you're a pizza lover or simply looking to indulge in some outstanding slices, this is a...

Because he folds every time — he's thin-crust and emotionally unstable.

In a corner of Dublin’s Italian Quarter, nestled between a bustling café and a record shop, there lived a cheeky little slice called Bambino Pizza. He wasn’t your average margherita — oh no. Whenever I pass by, I always see a huge crowd standing outside. A friend recommended it to me saying it is the best pizza in Ireland. So I decided to try it out.

I got a slice of hot pepperoni. Appearance wise - it looked amazing. They served it on a tiny plate, and I watched the end of the slice wipe the table as they served it to me. There is no "dine in." The service was very poor, with no indoor eating area. There are flimsy tables set up outdoors next to a red garbage bin. The slice itself was tasteless (could only taste the honey they poured after they took it out the reheating oven), it was burnt, like eating charcoal croutons. They also charge a euro extra for takeaway.

For the cost, an absolute abomination. Unless you like paying 6-7 euros for a slice of thin, burnt, tasteless charcoal.

I would any day recommend McGuiness on Camden Street, 2/3rd the cost, better quality and taste, much faster and better service during non peak hours, good packaging making it very convenient to eat, and they let you have your good inside.

PS: I would recommend their chicken popcorn as well. McGuiness,...

Light on the sauce but a good quick stop for a quality slice.
