Portobello Bar — Restaurant in Dublin

Awful absolutely awful don't come here for a drink I don't know what the rooms are like because I would never stay here do not come to the Portobello for a drink the staff are not nice there is two that works there that are ok the prices for your drink at cheap you can get 3 shots for €10 or you can get three bottles of desperado for €10 but genuinely do not come here unless you want to be going home with someone!..it's not a nice bar at all it's very run down the Bouncers are nice just one guy though but honest to God there are so much nicer places in here it makes coppers look Pleasant and that's an awful lot you have men that come in here and watch the dance floor for women so ladies becareful and watch our for your sisters! and the staff don't care? the Bouncers might take them out but as I said there is only ONE nice bouncer other than that honest to God stay away if you want a nice bar keep walking straight along the canal and you'll come up to the Barge that's a...

DRINKS SCAM!! Went there Friday night and ordered 2 "Long Island Ice Teas"for 10 Euro. I witnessed the barman take this bottle from the counter and pour from it, i asked what was in it, he didnt know. I complained that i wasnt getting what i ordered and i believe it to be a scam. He got the manager, an aggressive, rude little man, that came to me and said "What do you want" I asked him what was in the bottle, he told me he didnt have to tell me what was in it, he then told me to "F-Off" and walked around from the bar, i asked him for a refund and he told me to "F-Off, your not getting a refund, you're getting F- All back" At that point i was approached by the bouncer and thrown out for asking what was in the bottle. We stayed at the hotel for a short (36-hour) trip in Dublin. Anthony at the front desk was extremely helpful and gave us great suggestions for where to eat and hear live music. We took all of his suggestions and were not disappointed. If you're the type of traveler who needs a lot of amenities and plush accommodations, I suggest finding a different hotel. We are the type of travelers that try to stay out of a hotel as much as possible. We like to hike around town, eat out, and explore cities. The Portobello is great for sleeping but isn't the type of place for people who want to hang out in their room. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to many attractions.
